This afternoon, Crown Princess Mary well deserved received "The Womenomics Global Impact Award 2017" for her large work for girls and women in Denmark and abroad :flowers:

Thanks to Crown Princess Mary's tireless work for Denmark's women, she has today received the honors prize. Every time a mother and child/children enter the Danish Crisis Centers, the Mary Fund send them a backpack with the most necessary things such as a teddy bear, a toothbrush, toys and a postcard from Crown Princess Mary. One can not imagine how much it means for the mother and child in that situation. Thanks.

She does a great job. Today she had her first officiel event in Aarhus, and right now she has her next official event in Copenhagen where Mary receives "The Womenomics Global Impact Award 2017".

With the distance between Aarhus and Copenhagen Mary has barely been able to reach home in the meantime.

BB inform us that at the upcoming meeting of OECD Forum in Paris on 6th June, Mary will be giving the opening speech. - The reason being that DK currently holds the chairmanship.
That is of course still a huge cadeau to Mary.
Those present at the forum are heavy-weights in regards to expertise and opinions.

The Danish PM will give the opening speech at the summit on the 7th for governments.

Mary will travel to Paris today as her first event will be the dinner tonight.

I always like seeing Mary doing this sort of substantive work. It's clear from listening to her that her words are backed up by actual experience and knowledge.

As usual, I'm not impressed with the DRF's social media.
From this trip they have posted 3 blurred pictures on Facebook of Mary holding the opening speech. Well okay, but what about the rest of the trip's many events?
I have to admit, I unfortunately think that the DRF on social media runs exactly the same tactics as all the other less serious media - they highlight the fun things and make a lot out of them (the Queen's summer cruise, birthday, Frederik and Mary visiting children etc.) while the less fun royal work stands in the shadow. IMO, it was precisely the DRF's own platforms who should inform us about all the boring, but important work the royals also does. Like our Crown Princess on a busy visit to France during the economic summit. Unfortunately, they just highlight the fun moments that all other media also highlight...

Second event for Mary today :)

This afternoon, HRH Crown Princess Mary participate in the Bagland Copenhagen 20th anniversary reception. Baglandet is a meeting place and counseling center for young people and adults who have been placed as children. Baglandet offers social gathering, counseling and conversations about work, education, economics and social relations.

"It was actually planned that Mary should has held a official speech. However, this was changed in the last minute. HRH The Crown Princess was today hosting a meeting in Frederik VIII's Palace, Amalienborg, where Tostan's director Molly Melching told of the organization's work on changing social norms.
Tostan is a headquarters in Senegal, which through education and training helps local communities in Africa to create sustainable development and social transformation based on human rights.

Mary recently opened the OECD forum, for which Denmark currently hold the chairmanship. And is was as the highest ranking representative for Denmark in that role, that Mary went to meet the new French First lady, Brigitte Macron. - As the first international visitor BTW.
That took place at the Elysee Palace, with the Danish ambassador to France and an interpreter also present.

Afterwards Mary said: "It was a pleasure to meet First Lady Brigitte Macron in the Elysee Palace. It was a good meeting and we had a very open and exciting talk about several of the subjects in which we are both interested. She expressed a great interest in the Danish model (way to do run things), especially the Danish school system and green solutions.
It was my first visit to the Elysee Palace and the First Lady was sweet in also showing my around a little in the historical and impressive beautiful building and garden".

- Frederik has visited the palace before. Certainly when he worked at the Danish embassy when he was in his 20's.

:previous:One thing I have noticed over the years is that Crown Princess Mary, every time she is at an event she is in that moment and really puts all of herself into being out there with the people. She never fails to make me smile. I think she must be a truly delightful person to meet.:)
