The white look is wonderful and elegant. She looks beautiful.

Is this not the suit she wore to Charlotte's christening?

yes - the coatdress is from charlottes christening, the hat is from trooping the colour 2015 and the pearl brooch is from trooping the colour 2014.

this must have been a difficult event to dress for - on the cusp of evening: to 'day' or not to 'day'. white and pearls are always appropriate

Kate looks lovely.
Very appropriate for the occasion. The white really shows up the poppy.

The Duchess looks lovely a great outfit for the occasion this evening.

It suits the event and Catherine, it's not spectacular but it doesn't need to be. :flowers:

Again, love the chignon.
Exactly. Very elegant, fully finished, pretty and respectful. Great choice of new combination of repeats as well.

Catherine's outfit was beautiful at Charlotte's christening and is beautiful now. Perfect for the occasion.

Lovely ...simple/elegant/classy...and I really like the grey shoe.

I love everything but the hat.

One thing that has puzzled me is that evening wear can be *anything* you wear in the evening? This does not strike me as evening wear, given that, this is a very nice dress coat and hat. Catherine looks really great in this color from what I see here. I like the cut of the outfit and it seems to fit very well on her. I like that she is wearing her hair up a bit more these days also. And a beautiful hat perched on her head makes a perfect outfit for the day/evening.
One thing, suede shoes in the summer, a nice patent leather would of looked better IMO.
I think it is high time we all used our common sense and posted events with daywear such as this in the correct thread just as I can't get over the absurdity of posting afternoon-evening weddings with tiaras and evening gowns in the daywear thread. It just daft!

The lack of real jewelry is upsetting.
Difficult as it might appear, I am sure you will eventually get over the upset!

Something could have been provided to illustrate the horrible toll this war took on her country

For most, the presence of the poppies achieve that objective. What might you be expecting?

It would be rather inappropriate to be bedazzled in jewelry at this type of event...understated is a good way to go.

Pretty coat dress. I love the brooch and her hair is great :flowers:

Hate the hat

In viewing the dress, if you look at the back of the dress that zipper is ugly, it is not even sewn well, very poor quality of fabric also it seems. I sew and I had to learn how to do zippers that were hidden correctly in school, this is bad, not even worth the price. And the zipper, maybe it is how it was photographed, looks black or dark gray........not buying this dress that is for sure.

Thanks for posting this Pranter. Nice to see more of the dress. As pretty as the cardigan was, I never thought it did the dress any favours. William looks extremely dapper too !

It’s okay.

I die for those shoes though.

I am super undecided about the dress (the belt throws it off) but wowza! Love those shoes!
