Thank you Iceflower for these photographs. So nice to see Prince Albert engaging with the players and "fooling" about with the soccer ball. At the end of the day royals are just regular human beings. I did so enjoy these pics.

On pic 4, PA is stroking his (non-existent) beard in a pensive way..... probably because he is used to rather more expensive art !

Although Monsieur Gallizia is at the top of his field, as a collector, too.

Hmmm, maybe he is thinking "that would look good next to the Miro in the nursery".

NGalitzine - you made me laugh - but wouldn't the little chap (or girl) be totally perplexed at the sight of it ??

It might put him/her off his/her dinner.....

The Principality of Monaco is helping the humanitarian effort in the Horn of Africa by donating 20,000 euros to help the feeding project.

The drought is the worst for 60 years...

The Attractiveness of Monaco - Part Seven
**********************************

At last ! Some good news on the home front where the month of July brought exceptionally good results in the hotel sector.
Apparently this was only partially due to the wedding...
The Principality has 75 000 beds available per month.
In July, eighty percent of these beds sold at 300 euros per night.
Result: almost 18 million from the hotel sector alone, without food or other expenses.

The Musée Océanographique welcomed its 100 000th visitor family, from Dépt. Loir-et-Cher in France.

What also needs to be included is its popularity as a destination for large cruise ships - particularly with the new port developments. Incidentally, in July, the Oceanographic museum reported a record number of visitors in one day -but it was a particularly wet day

The monaco.mc article did not mention the income from cruise ships.

There is a website "Ports de Monaco" which gives full data of cruise ship traffic:
http://www.ports-monaco.com/lang-fr/les-croisieres.html

Also a webcam of the port:
http://www.ports-monaco.com/lang-fr/webcam.html

Here in Edinburgh, the local economy also relies on cruise ships visiting - although our weather is very unpredictable :-))

Still, even in bad weather, the passengers are bussed to the Royal Mile.

The Attractiveness of Monaco - Part Eight:
************************************

Apart from PA's Foundation, there are many initiatives on the "ECO" front.
The latest is an enormous, bright red, electric-cum-solar trimaran named Solar Odyssey.

Based at Canet-en-Roussillon (Region Languedoc-Roussillon, at the border with Spain), it arrived in Monaco at Port Hercule.
The trimaran follows in the steps of Eric Tabarly and Frédéric Dahirel.

Today it will continue to Ajaccio (Corsica) where there will be further hydrodynamic trials......

Hard to overlook as they've added a close up to highlight that sensation Let us please not start
any discussion if that was a sign for anything or not. There are so many husbands and wives that
don't wear the wedding ring 24 hours a day and we can be sure that Prince Albert did not try to
send a message with that

It isn't the first time he wasn't wearing it, and I highly doubt that this will be the last. I'm just glad that he got one and does wear it!

Does anyone know if Albert is involved in the UEFA?
Michel Platini and the Prince are wearing the same tie. That has to mean something doesn't it?
