I think Catherine do not like having too much hairspray in her hair. To do a updo even a simple bun, lots of hairspray needs to be used. For her ponytail the other day, she did not use lots of hairspray and towards the end of her visit, some hairs are running loose on top of her head. Anyway, I think she looks good with her long hair, an updo, even the ponytail aged her.

I think this calling for hair-up is getting too much, every single appearance I saw people complaining about her hair. It's the same as Queen Max case. Max always change her hairdos and did hair-up marvelously on frequent basis. But whenever she appear with hair down, people are complaining why no hair-up and commenting how badly damage her hair are. But royals also needs to let their hair rest too in between hairdo. So for this case, should she continue to do a hair up for every appearance with tons of hairspray or let her hair rest to recover a bit?

You and I are in agreement on this. Catherine is fortunate enough to have a luxuriant head of hair which complements her face. And I do think that the pulled-back or-up look makes her look older. She's still young enough to sport a look like this, and that is part of her identity. Time enough to wear it in an up-do in the decades to come. Most women would kill for hair like hers!

There were pictures from yesterday where the light was on her hair and it was a bit tousled with activity and it was just spectacular. I have complete hair envy over her hair. I hope she likes this slightly shorter length as much as I do!

Furthermore it sound stupid to me to have twice the same dress... they are millions of dresses in this word she can have...

Yes! With so many different styles, why get the same thing in different colors? I hope she did have the pink one dyed.

I'm the same. I think she looks great with her hair pulled back, and she'd do well to at least experiment with some different styles for different occasions, but as someone who has baby fine hair and therefore can't really do much longer than shoulder length, I never get tired of looking at all that healthy, thick hair! If I could grow hair like that I'd insist people follow me around all day and do nothing but take pictures of it.

With her hair pulled back for the jet boat ride she looked so much prettier. It gives you an idea what some different hairstyles would be like. With a hairdresser around, and so much hair to play with, I for one would like a little variety.
Loved the whitish, pinkish sweater, especially with those earrings. So nice! also the blue and white check shirt looks good.
Lose the way to skinney jeans and awful wedges, other bottoms would have suited her better. Cute grey sneakers too.

Rewearing red Suit by Luisa Spagnoli worn previously to St Andrews in 2011 - she looks stunning

Great hairstyle - here is a more detailed picture.

Red and Black are the regional colours so a really appropriate look.
Love it all, what a treat! Can't really see the earrings, are they drop pearl?

The outfit is perfect.

I love that shade of blue on Catherine's coat, it suits her well. I usually don't particularly like pleated clothing, but Catherine managed to pull hers off. The decorations on her hat look a little out of place with it, but other than that, its quite nice. ......

I took the decoration on the hat as a fern and an homage to NZ. so I was ok with it.

Christchurch today, and the town is a madhouse. Traffic is always horrendous but today is grid lock! Catherine's red and black ensemble is really hitting that 1940's vibe. She looked terrific. The whole kit, suit, clutch and fabulous shoes. And I say that with my hand over my heart and not just because I'm a dyed in the wool, one-eyed Cantabrian whose Rugby team just happens to be "The Crusaders". Red and Black rules!

This suit is the best so far, very chic and still lady like. I love her style this
today, a nice change. She really looks great in red, even when she was descending the plane upon arrival with PG, she looked fabulous in that outfit. There is such a change this time around, more self-confident, more self awareness and genuine warmth in her actions, this time she isn't afraid of doing something wrong like before. I like what she is becoming, and a good role model for young girls to look up to. Wish I was in NZ to see that beauty of the places that they are seeing.....great looking country!

:previous: Unfortunately no . . . grid lock rules!

Looks like the Duchess of Cambridge is recycling the Luisa Spangoli red suit she wore to her and the Duke’s visit to St. Andrews in 201.
I think it is an entirely new suit as the top looks like it fits far better and the skirt is longer. Now you can take up a hem but it is rare to be able to let one down without it looking rough and there is seldom that much hem to let down.

But that lovely pencil skirt isn't holding her back any and nor are her shoes!

You have to admire someone who is willing to get down and (possibly) get dirty.

Love this suit. It's stunning. It's easily one of my faves. Glad to see her wear it again!

I like what she did with her hair.

Perhaps she's grown into the top a bit (not unusual to change after becoming a mother) or more likely the top has been fitted to her better, last outing was when she was first engaged. As for the longer skirt, it's clearly about 1" or maybe 2" longer than in 2011, a skirt will fall lower if you've lost weight or it's possible the original hem was wide enough to accomplish that, or perhaps it is a new longer pencil skirt. Did anyone get a good look at the multi color bracelet she was wearing?
edit:I'm leaning towards new skirt - compare this http://whatkatewore.com/tag/kate-aquatalia-rhumba-boots/ with this http://paimages.co.uk/preview/?urn=2.19561854

Best outfit of the tour so far. If Kate had done something with her hair, I'd give it 10/10.

Imo this is the perfect skirt length for her. She looks elegant in a pencil skirt

Queen Rania has long brown hair but it's never so overwhelming as with Kate. Imo it would be better if it were straight and hanging down her back. I don't like the cocker spaniel look of 2 big curly parts next to her face.

The suit looks good, it fits which is a bonus. It is the second most interesting thing she's worn for me this tour, and like DOM if she'd done something with that mane it would have been even better.

Lovely suit and I love the belt with it. Her hair looks good twisted on the sides. I agree with a few posters that this is the best look so far.

Elegant from head to toe.
Red and black is such a good color combination- so classy.
Like I said in the trip thread, one of the two best outfits so far.

Catherine looks wonderful! Red is such a strong colour and looks good on her. At first I didn't particularly like her belt with the suit, but when I took another glance at it, I decided that I'm giving it the thumbs up. I also really like her hairstyle, very pretty.

On another note, I like how Catherine is wearing a lot of ferns during her visit to New Zealand. Very thoughtful.

The red looks good on her but the outfit itself is more suited for someone 15 years older.

She's rocking this look, and I love what she did with her hair.

Whilst the outfit is in no way "on trend", I think it is just fine for the occasion: a classic design, the right colours for the location, from the depths of the wardrobe, and no need to buy newer expensive clothes.

I love this red suit looks stunning on her .. hair back thank goodness great look

i like this red suit, but i still prefer her dress during the playdate or her casual outfits.

Both departure and arrival outfits are beautiful.
Just don't like the nude platform shoes.

George squirms like he wants to escape, cute. I wonder if they dressed him on purpose to look like his dad when he first visited Australia.

I like the departure suit, although frayed edges on an outfits always make it look unfinished to me. Never makes sense.

I would have preferred the arrival dress to be all yellow, the white patches add nothing. It's also not a very fitted dress which IMO doesn't suit Catherine. It's a bold colour, which I do love.
