I certainly wouldn't want to bump heads with the person wearing it!

I think it is hideous like that--small, insignificant, and unwieldy looking atop the greek key base. UGH. Easily belongs in the worst jewels thread.

Yes, to my surprise I already had the pic - but was browsing through pics of Princess Beatrice and came upon the link to the Royal Magazine. I had put the pic on a website, but had no description - because I didn't know who it was. I just knew it was a Greek Tiara. I didn't realize that the top part was an extension of Victoria's tiara, until I opened the Royal Magazine page and saw the description. Amazing. Thanks!!

I'm not sure if that's the right place of this post, but however...
A couple of years ago I read somewhere (probably here) that the daughters of British sovereigns since Queen Victoria recived a large sapphire and diamond brooch, like the one Prince Albert gave his bride. I've seen Mary, Princess Royal, Princess Margaret, Princess Anne wearing one. What about the daughters of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra? Is this really a tradition or just a coincidence?
Thanks in advance,
Bobby

Haha, I remember thinking the same thing when I saw that photo. But I found the original article to go with that photo and it was an exhibit back in the day of diamond jewelry from the nobility and royalty of Britian. Only some of them are the Queens, I with they all belonged to her though. I would love to see some of those peices worn.

It was much better in black and white really fantastic jewels.
Are Queen Louise 's jewelry still in the RF of Danemark. I think Queen Elisabeth II is wearing Alexandra's tiara and The Fife tiara belongs or belonged to the Royal Princess Mary/ lascelles. But no idea about their necklaces.
Is Louise of Fife's necklace the wedding tiara of Elisabeth II and Princess Anne ?

The Fife tiara is owned by the 3rd Duke of Fife and has been in that family since 1889 when it was given to Princess Louise on her marriage to the 1st Duke.

The necklace Queen Louise is wearing looks like the big diamond necklace belonging to the danish Crown Jewels.

Does anyone have a great picture of Queen Alexandra wearing her serpent/snake bracelets?? I have a friend who doesn't believe that fashionable Queen Alexandra wore snake bracelets... and I cannot find a picture of them anywhere but in my Leslie Field's book - and I don't have a scanner!!!
