I'm really hating Mette-Marit's dress - good color but she's way too young for the style. The Swiss President's dress would be very pretty if it weren't for that huge flower thing...at least, I guess it's supposed to be a flower. Whatever it is, it's awful.

I'm sort of on the fence about Astrid's...although I'm leaning towards loving it. It's loud, it's shiny, it's flashy, it's colorful, I'm not sure I would wear it myself, but somehow I'm kind of thinking it's awesome.

Astrid´s dress "awsome"?! C´mon, you must have meant "awful", didn´t you?
I used to like this red dress of the CPrincess, but this black belt destroys it, unfortunately.... It reallly looked very elegant when she wore it in Thailand some years ago!

Nope, I meant awesome. :D I actually don't know why I like it, because all the things I listed about it (shiny, loud, flashy, colorful) are usually all bad things and reasons to hate a dress...and I can totally see why you think it looks awful. But I don't know...there's just something about it that makes me love it. I think it might be because I've seen Astrid in some other questionably-colorful and loud outfits in the past (such as her fruit-printed dress that was worn to another state visit) and, since I really like her, somehow I've learned to love the, um, flashier things in her wardrobe. ;)

Of all the ladies I actually liked Astrids dress the most. The queen looks nice but I feel like we've seen that dress a hundred times before! M-M looks alright but I don't like the belt on the dress.

I quess they played the wrong National Athemn for Switzerland.
Love how they had the light show on the palace.

All the ladies look lovely. I agree about the black belt for Mette Marit, other than that she was beautiful. I liked the Swiss President's dress and
that flower on edge of the dress.

Of all the ladies I actually liked Astrids dress the most.

So I'm not alone, then! It's certainly very gold - I think that's why I like it; I like bright things. She's celebrating her golden wedding anniversary in January, so maybe the plan is to wear it for the dinner that I assume the NRF will be having.

I am so happy to see these pictures because I am Swiss......... Sorry!

As I prefer a very reluctant style I must hate astrid´s dress... I mean, a tartan style skirt for an evening gown!!! Good lord!
