I was completely wrong today, and I'll be wrong next week, but I'm guessing La Buena, the cluster earrings, and the two large diamond bracelets, but no necklace.

I suspect that is absolutely correct.

Yes I also think queen Letizia will wear the The fleur-de-lys tiara in Sweden, though the Floral does seem to be her favourite one.

I would be surprised if the Brazilian came out next week. Perhaps the Leuchtenberg sapphires for Silvia.
And i would be disappionted if it doesn't come out. This was Silvia's tiara for most incoming State Visits from other monarchies and we haven't seen in for quiet a long time now.

The Leuchtenberg sapphies and Nine Pronge tiara are worn so often

I so hope you are not dissappointed, and the Brazilian does come out to play.

Also unlikely but the Cameo came to my mind, Silvia has worn it for a Belgium state visit...

Indeed. But I was thinking backwards from the yellow sash that Silvia will be wearing, and how dress and jewellery combinations may flow.

Her sash will be bluewhite, so unlikely its the cameo, maybe a big surprise and victoria wearing he cameo??

Victoria is unlikely to wear the cameo. As far as I understand it, the cameo tiara is only worn by royal brides on their wedding day, or the Queen. Victoria is neither.

The Cameo has been worn by several royal ladies, both on their weddings and on other occasions. The tiara is apparently the King's private property and not part of any of the Bernadotte foundations. The biggest reason for it not being worn much these days is probably because it's said to very frail.

But the last time it has be worn by someone other then Queen Silvia was also the last time it was worn. By CP Victoria at her Wedding Day.

Wonder if it would not be possible to overhoal the tiara by a Jeweller and try to give it a bit more stability.

That may be true, but am I right to think that, in recent times, it does appear to be the case that the only wearers of the tiara are the Queen and brides of the family?

I have no doubt that it is indeed possible. I understand QE2 had the Grand Duchess Vladamir tiara redone, perhaps in the 1980s.

My guess is that Letizia will wear La Buena in Stockholm, would be much appropriate to do so.
Let's hope she'll get access to those fabulous hairdressers of the Swedish RF, who usually outdo themselves at such events.

I think you are right. Expect the La Buena, the JdP earrings and bracelet. It would be great if the colet necklace came out to play as well, though I am not hopeful.

Yes I do hope she can take advantage of their hairdressers.please, when is the visit again?

I expoect Letizia will be travelling with her own hairdresser, as is usually the case for royal tours. The Swedish royal hairdressers will have their own hands full, with doing the hair of the Queen, Victoria and Sofia.

Apparently there will be a Belgian state visit to Italy in December. I expect Queen Mathilde to wear the Wolfers tiara or the Brabant laurel wreath.

It would be amazing to see Queen Fabiola's Spanish Tiara but seeing as it fate is unclear I don't have an expectations there.

Since the Belgians are tiara poor its one or the other ;)

If Queen Mathilde still has Queen Fabiola's tiara (i.e. assuming that it has not been dismantled, or left to Fabiola's Spanish relatives), I would expect her to save it for her first state visit to or from Spain. Maybe the tiara's provenance, being a gift from Franco, is an argument against wearing it these days, but that would be an exaggeration in my opinion. The Spanish floral tiara for example, despite being historically a royal tiara that once belonged to Queen Maria Christina, was nonetheless purchased and returned to the Spanish Royal Family as a wedding gift also from Franco and that has never sparkled any political controversy. In fact, Queen Letizia still wears it frequently today.

I suppose it will be more of a statement to wear the Franco tiara in Spain for the first time in decades than wearing a floral tiara that has been worn on a regular basis for 5 decades now.

If the goal is to attract as little attention as possible to the background it may be wise to wear it for another occassion. Or even to start wearing pieces of it again, a leaf as a brooch, or as a pendant for a necklace, just the base of the coronet and slowly build it up from there. The fact that no part has been re-appearing makes it less likely that will ever get to see it on Mathilde.

It has been communicated that the whole private estate went to the Foundation Werken van de Koningin / Œuvres de la Reine. That is the vehicle of the Belgian Queens enabling them to do charity.

Possibly Queen Fabiola had already "given with warm hand" as is the Dutch saying (meaning: given during lifetime). For an example Villa Astrida in Motril or the Spanish Wedding Gift. If so, then these are no part of the estate which went to the charity.

She really can't go smaller than this for the Swedish SV, so yeah, I'm on team fleur-de-lys. I hope that the two queens had a nice preparatory phone call to coordinate their look. The fleur-de-lys and the Braganca on the same photo would be such a treat!

My thoughts exactly! And both have been worn by queens of Battenberg descent, Queen Louise of Sweden and Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain.

There have been riots in the Netherlands and demos in Austria. Clearly, we have a Covid economy. Therefore, would it be wise if the royal ladies dressed in a discreet way for a while? For instance, for the first Oslo banquet, Queen Maxima was just covered in ice and for the German state visit, Queen Margrethe glittered in the evenings. I think this is a time to cut the ice for a while, until the economies pick up some.

My final guess for the upcoming state banquet in Stockholm on Wednesday

Silvia : Leuchtenberg Sapphire’s.... Would ofcourse love to see the Braganza Tiara again but i wonder if she’ll ever wear that again, considering how heavy it is and The Queen is almost 78 years old now...

Letizia : Fleur de Lys Tiara. I had initially hoped for the Cartier Loop Tiara but i doubt she’ll wear that twice in a week...

Victoria : I hope she’ll wear the Processional Necklace (intågssmycket)...We haven’t seen that in awhile and the pearls and ceylon sapphire’s would work very well with the yellow/white sash of the Order of Isabella the Catholic..... Victoria usually pairs it with then 6-Button Tiara.

Sofia : Wedding Diamond Tiara with Pearls on top.

The economy in the Netherlands is doing really well (unemployment rate (2.9%) is at its lowest rate in more than 14 years (note: the graph only went back 14 years)). The riots don't have anything to do with a bad economy but with a larger and larger divide in the society - mostly (but not only) due to differences of opinion regarding Covid regulations. So, I don't see how dressing with less glitter would help in any way... Imho, if visits take place, do them well.

The Dutch economy is booming all out the roof! There is discontent but not related to the economy.

We have seen it with Queen Maxima, how she slowly re-introduced the Stuart parure. An earring here, a necklace there... and after a while the small setting of the tiara came out. It was a good strategy, and imho it would also be a good strategy to follow with the jewels of the late Queen Fabiola. Just wearing one strawberry leaf as a brooch could be easily done. And like you, the fact that we haven't seen a single piece from Fabiola aquamarine collection makes me pessimistic.

As for the visit to Greece, I'm sure that Mathilde will wear one of the smaller options. The meander base of the 9-provinces tiara might be ideal, due to it's Greek key pattern.

I have a similar feeling, but maybe the mood in the Americas (North and South), where Covid hit much harder, is different from that in Europe.

I don't think there is much public outcry against royal gala events in countries like Denmark and Sweden. There is some, however, in Spain. I read comments on YouTube for example complaining about Queen Letizia's appearance with the Russian tiara at President Mattarella's state dinner while "Spaniards are queuing in social restaurant lines and cannot pay their heating bills". I also saw complaints saying that there are still capacity restrictions on indoor dining (or at least recommendations) in Spain, but that was apparently ignored by the Royal Household (I don't know if that is accurate).

Interestingly the royalists/monarchists who were taking part in the discussion replied that, in any case, the King is not to blame, but rather the government (currently, in Spain, a coalition between socialists and republican communists actually), since it is the government that decides whether a state visit should go ahead or not, and the King only does what he is told. I guess that is a fair point.

In any case,as much as I like to see the gala dinners back, it may be too soon, especially with the current fourth wave in Europe.

The Belgian royals seem to own jewelry that, for different reasons, they do not wear or simply disappears. For example, the diamond necklace (with matching earrings and bracelet) that Queen Paola got as a gift from the Congolese dictator (was it Kabila?). As far as I understand, they are now part of the Royal Collection and never saw the light of day. I also believe there is still jewelry that belonged to Queen Astrid and then Princess Lilian which is unaccounted for. And, in fact, nobody knows exactly the current status of Queen Paola's personal jewels, not to mention some of Queen Fabiola's pieces.
