Aktuellt _ Pep Forum 2022 - Generation Pep

Victoria's speech, she said among other things:
"The conditions for living an active and healthy life unfortunately look very different for children and young people in Sweden today.
And this is something that affects their health - in the short and long term. Physically and mentally.
In the Pep report 2022, you can see that there is a clear connection between regular physical activity and mental health. Children and young people who exercise regularly also have less problems with anxiety and depression.
I look forward to hearing more about what we here today can do, together, to create change: So that the path to movement will be as short as possible - for everyone. And so that more children and young people will have the opportunity to feel good in both body and soul."

Television presenter and reporter Jessica Almenäs is one of Generation Pep's Pep Ambassadors. She was a moderator/host at Pep Forum and told to Svensk Damtidning that it was a very exciting and interesting day, just like the Pep Forum usually is. There were great speakers, a very good mix and it's always lovely when the crown princess couple spreads a little extra star shine over the whole thing.
Jessica has trained all her life and knows how important it is for one's physical and mental well-being to stay active, she usually talks about it in her podcast. When she was asked to be Generation Pep's ambassador, there was absolutely no hesitation in accepting. She was thrilled. She really wants to contribute to that children and young people move more. And it is valuable to work together with Daniel and Victoria, who are passionate about exactly the same thing as she herself. Jessica says that she doesn't know Victoria and Daniel personally, but has met them quite a lot now in connection with Generation Pep and during various things that they arranged. Victoria and Daniel are really passionate about this subject and that children and young people should live more healthily and be more active. They always have a lot to talk about when they see each other, it's a subject that all three are passionate about.

449 proposals to promote the health of children and young people
At Pep Forum 2022, we asked the participants what they think the new government should do to promote the health of children and young people. In total, we received 449 proposals, which we have now sent to the relevant decision makers.
We want to see a change in society that gives children and young people better opportunities to adopt good habits while they grow up. That's why we asked the visitors to this year's Pep Forum to share what they want to see the new government do to give all children and young people in Sweden the opportunity to live an active and healthy life.
Aktuellt _ 449 förslag för att främja barn och ungas hälsa - Generation Pep

What do you want the new Government to do to promote the health of children and young people?

Axfood and Generation Pep enter into a long-term collaboration with the goal of working together to promote the health of children and young people.
Axfood's goal is to create a healthier Sweden by 2030. By increasing knowledge and facilitating healthy choices, Axfood wants to contribute to better public health and good eating habits for everyone.
- Of course we stand behind Generation Pep's vision that all children and young people should have the opportunity and desire to live an active and healthy life. We know that the foundation for good and healthy eating habits is laid at an early age, and together with Generation Pep, we want to create the conditions for children and young people to eat well for the rest of their lives, says Axfood CEO Klas Balkow.
- Most children and young people in Sweden today move too little and eat too poorly. To reverse the trend, we want to create a popular movement for more physical activity, better eating habits and more equal health for children and young people. Here we believe that such a large and socially important partner as Axfood can contribute to making a difference, says Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft.

Daniel said at his fantastic speech among other things:
- Sports can stop the clock. And when sports stop the clock, then strangers throw themselves into each other's arms, generations are inspired and we build this common national memory bank.
- What we cannot accept is that our children and young people risk diseases later in life because we did not give them what they needed. Therefore, it is an incredible honor for me to present the award for "Årets Peppare" to some who are involved in the health of children and young people and try to encourage and create more joy in movement and make children and young people feel better.

The founders of Fuzed were this morning interviewed at TV4 News morning.
Fuzed was named as "Årets Peppare" at Monday's Sports Gala. Prince Daniel himself was a big reason why the gaming center received the award, founder Karl Sergel tells.
- He was impressed. He was apparently one of the biggest supporters of us on the jury, which is nice to hear. He genuinely thinks that we need to think a little differently, so the whole gang at "Generation Pep", Karolina Clüft and all those, are behind us. Innovation is needed, he says.

Daniel and Estelle at Generation Pep's "Up and Jump, Sweden" day

Today is 31st January and time for Generation Pep's sixth Up and Jump, Sweden! -day.
Generation Pep launched on 31st January 2018 the national campaign "Upp och hoppa, Sverige" (Up and Jump, Sweden) against sedentary and to get people move more.

Up and Jump, Sweden - for all children's right to good health!
There are over 2 million children in Sweden, but only 2 out of 10 reach the recommendation of an average of 60 minutes of physical activity every day. The trends point in the wrong direction, and can lead to serious consequences for the health of our children and young people. We know that we can break the trend, so that all children and young people have equal opportunities to find their joy in movement. Together we can make a difference. So get up and jump Sweden - now we create hope for children and young people.
Are you with us? Jump, film and share with #uppochhoppa2023
Tag a friend, colleague or actor in the comments who you want to see jump for all children's right to good health!
The film features Generation Pep's ambassadors Mustafa "Musse" Mohamed and Ida Johansson, as well as Mårten Nylén, Sarah Sjöström, Jiloan Hamad, Annika Sjöö, Per Kasperi, Patrik Widell, Fanny_josefine, Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft and TRH Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle.
Generation Pep engages its entire network of organizations, companies, preschools and schools to manifest the right of all children and young people to a healthy life. We start jumping on January 31st and until the end of week 5, we will encourage movement in our channels. Our goal is that we will collect a hope for every child in Sweden during the entire week 5.

Feeling a positive belief in the future can be crucial to not ending up in exclusion later in life. But what is a positive belief in the future? Which young people miss it? And what affects young people's faith in the future, sense of security and trust in society?
These were some of the issues that were touched upon during the seminar with the theme "Faith in the future and trust among young people".
The moderator was one of Sweden's most well-known journalists and presenters; Jenny Strömstedt. Invited guests were representatives from civil society, business, teachers, principals, young people and individuals who in some way are passionate about, or work with, these important issues.
The purpose of the seminar was to shed light on the theme and have inspiring conversations about young people's view of the future, consequences of a lack of faith in the future and trust in society, and how we can help each other to work preventively and contribute to more young people seeing opportunities in the future.
Victoria gave the opening speech and Daniel made the closure at his speech in the end of the seminar.

Generation Pep launched the online training "Sweden should feel better" - an education about the health of children and young people
To increase knowledge about the connection between physical activity and healthy food and children's and young people's health, Generation Pep has developed a free online training: Sweden should feel better - an education about children's and young people's health.
A unique education with a focus on providing basic knowledge, information on recommendations and what you as an adult can do to promote physical activity and healthy food for all children and thus contribute to good and equal health.
- We want to give all adults in Sweden the opportunity to be a guide. Regardless of whether you meet children in your work or are a family member, you should have the opportunity to take part in the knowledge available - completely free of charge, says Carolina Klüft, operations manager at Generation Pep.
Generation Pep is behind the training, in close collaboration with and fact-checked by researchers at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, the University of Gothenburg and Karolinska Institutet.

FC Rosengård wants to work for the health of children and young people - becomes part of Generation Pep's network
The health of children and young people is far from top. According to Generation Pep's latest survey, the Pep report 2022, only two out of ten Swedish children and young people reach the recommended amount of physical activity per day. Never before has it been so important to get involved in promoting the joy of exercise and healthy eating habits as now. FC Rosengård now becomes part of Generation Pep's popular movement to inspire more children and young people to a healthy lifestyle.

Carolina Klüft, operations manager of Generation Pep, was the third competitor at Masked Singer Sweden, who was voted out from the program yesterday.
Carolina, the Olympic and World Champion, was "Superhero".
Carolina tells that "Masked singer" was a challenge, but at the same time very fun.
- It was different and quirky. Doing something completely different from what you are used to is difficult, but it was a lot of fun, especially to be able to offer yourself and offer a happy program in these, too many, difficult times.
At the same time, it was not easy to see yourself defeated, especially not as a former elite athlete.
- Right then I was mad. You want to stay a little longer. You're a competitive person like that. But like I said, generally it was just fun.
Carolina tried to trick the panel by, among other things, walking and posing differently.

Generation Pep's Pep report 2023 shows that only two out of ten children and young people move according to the recommendation and only a fraction eat fruit and vegetables according to the dietary advice. Overall, only 3 % of Sweden's children and young people live according to the authorities' recommendations. Gender, age and socioeconomics are factors that continue to play a major role in the children's opportunity to live healthily.
Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft says that according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, all children have the right to the best possible health, and that is not the case in Sweden today. Sweden also has a public health policy goal of closing the health gap within a generation.
The Pep report is a survey about how much Swedish children and adolescents aged 4–17 years are active, what they eat and how factors around the children are related to lifestyle habits. The SOM institute at the University of Gothenburg has carried out the survey. Generation Pep's Pep report 2023 is carried out with the support of the Heart-Lung Foundation.

Generation Pep works to spread knowledge and create commitment around the health of children and young people.
Carolina Klüft talks about how it all started, who is behind it and how our society needs to make a system shift to think anew about movement and health. We also check in when all the invited guests at the sports gala got up and jumped in their fine clothes.
Carolina Klüft talks about Generation Pep's "Årets Peppare" Prize, which is awarded at the sports gala, and also why Day of The Right of Public Access (Allemansrättens Dag) needs to exist.

Today, Daniel was invited to a round table discussion about how society can promote increased physical activity for everyone. The roundtable was arranged by the government's committee for the promotion of increased physical activity.
Minister Jakob Forssmed as well as general directors and managers from some of the authorities and actors who have a role in matters relating to opportunities for physical activity attended the event, which purpose was to discuss the potential of physical activity and how to contribute to the work and to break the long period of sitting still.
During the conversation, Daniel presented, among other things, Generation Pep's work on the issue.

Daniel attended today a meeting of the steering group of Generation Pep.

Victoria and Daniel hosted a lunch at Haga Palace for people involved in Generation Pep.

Generation Pep's ambassador Jessica Almenäs posted yesterday to her Instagram (at her photos we see almost all ambassadors of Generation Pep, also the Olympic and World champion Sarah Sjöström):
"Today the Crown Princess and the Prince (and little Rio) invited @gen.pep and partners to lunch at Haga Palace. Incredible company and very good food. Was lucky enough to sit at the Crown Princess's table and she is really funny, warm and wise. According to tradition, me and fellow GenPep ambassadors @martennylen and @perkasperi took a nice picture outside the Palace. Very happy with my new dress from @mwhwear in true Royal Blue"

"Today we went to lunch at Haga Palace with the Crown Princess Couple and all the lovely partners, ambassadors and inspirers in @gen.pep
For those of you who don't know, part of Generation Pep's work is about inspiring children and young people to enjoy movement and making it easier and more fun to be active.
Generation Pep is a non-profit organization founded by the Crown Princess couple Victoria and Daniel with the aim of inspiring children and young people to live a healthy lifestyle with movement and healthy food as a cornerstone.
Here we have a lot of work to do as both me and @fanny_josefine reach out to a lot of young people who we would like to inspire to the joy of movement and exercise in everyday life. Exercising regularly can help us improve our health, increase our strength and endurance, reduce stress and anxiety, and even increase our lifespan.
Crazy excited for new challenges now, so let's go!!"
