Monday, February 19, San Francisco
Visit at the Marine Mammal Center
To draw attention to the work with sustainability and preservation of the marine environment, the Crown Princess couple visit the non-profit organization Marine Mammal Center, which works to protect the oceans through research and education and the rehabilitation of animals.
Visit to the Scandinavian school
The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel visit students at The Scandinavian School and Cultural Center during the afternoon. The school offers Scandinavian language and culture studies.
Reception for Swedes in California
In the late afternoon, the Crown Princess couple and the Minister visit the Swedish congregation in San Francisco to meet Swedes living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Tuesday, February 20, Sacramento and San Francisco
Meeting with California Governor Gavin Newsom
The Crown Princess, Prince Daniel and the Minister are received by the Governor of California in Sacramento for a bilateral meeting. An agreement on cooperation between Sweden and California to promote the green transition is expected to be signed in connection with the visit to Sacramento.
Visit to the Consulate General's office
The Crown Princess couple and the Minister visit the newly established Consulate General's office in San Francisco for a meeting with the staff and a tour of the office premises.
Briefing on driverless cars
During the afternoon, the Crown Princess couple and the Minister will take part in the new technology around driverless cars, which are a new element in the cityscape of San Francisco.
Visit Open AI
Together with the business delegation and the Minister, the Crown Princess Couple will be received at Open AI to take part in the latest developments in artificial intelligence.
Meeting with the Mayor of San Francisco
The Crown Princess, Prince Daniel and the Minister are received during the evening by San Francisco Mayor London Breed at City Hall.
Inauguration of the Consulate General of Sweden
During the evening, the Crown Princess officiates the opening of the new Swedish Consulate General at a ceremony in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, in the presence of Minister Johan Forssell.
Wednesday, February 21, Palo Alto
Company visits with the Swedish business delegation
The Crown Princess couple and the Minister will spend Wednesday in Palo Alto, where they will, among other things, visit Ndivia, Intel and Google for presentations and discussions regarding the development of artificial intelligence.
In the afternoon, the delegation visits Stanford University for an in-depth look at the ethical aspects of AI.
Thursday, February 22, Palo Alto
Seminar at Nordic Innovation House
The Crown Princess couple, the Minister and the delegation begin Thursday by attending a breakfast seminar where enhanced cooperation between Sweden and California is discussed.
Participation in the Green Transition Summit
The Crown Princess couple, the Minister and the business delegation as well as representatives from academia and industry, among other things, gather for a conference concerning deepened cooperation within the green transition. During the conference, the Crown Princess gives a speech.
