Classified as World Heritage since 1988, the Alcázar (Fortress) of Seville is the most unique of all Royal residences, because it combines architectural ensembles and gardens from different artistic periods. Throughout its history, the original ensemble has been expanded and refurbished. These changes bear witness to the reigns of the Catholic Monarchs King Fernando and Queen Isabel, King Carlos V, King Felipe II and Queen Isabel II.
Some of the most outstanding features of the Reales Alcázares are King Pedro's Mudejar Palace, the Gothic Halls of King Alfonso X, the rooms of the Catholic Monarchs, and the Renaissance decorations of the times of King Carlos V.
The High Rooms are the official residence of Their Majesties The King and Queen when they are in Seville.

What a shame its so under used by the SRF.

I wish they used this place more as stay in residence/museum . El Alcazar is like a magical time machine. At least, UK's QEII stayed in the palace during her Spanish visit

There are so many really beautiful locations but Felipe continues to use mainly Zarzuela or the Palacio Real for the grander events .

But then how man official Events does the King have in Sevilla when he could use the Alcazar? And when using it it means that it has to close for Visitors
