The Duchess is just as lovely now as she was when she first married the Duke. One of my favorites among the British royals-she seems very modest and down-to-earth and unpretentious. A delight to see these pictures.:)

I have found a picture of the Duchess at Trafalgar's 200th Anniversary on 28th June:

I don't know if it's a new hairstyle but the Duchess' hair looks good. So fresh and young looking.

The wedding phot of the Gloucesters was the first I have ever seen. Does anyone by any chance have others?

If you look in the wedding forum, Something Old, New, Royal and Blue, there should be a thread on the Gloucester's wedding, though pictures might be few.

I love the fact that given their profile they seem to have a normal, happy marriage and you never hear a scent of scandal from them or their children.

Has anyone else noticed that The Duchess of Gloucester is the only female Royal who wears her medals with evening dress. This is totally incorrect as medals are only supposed to be worn by female Royals with military uniform. Only male members of the Royal Family wear their medals with evening attire so I don't understand why she does this. It isn't even flattering to her overall appearance as it just looks wrong.

It might be that she is proud of them. I think it is fine to wear the small medals (the former Canadian Governor General sometimes did). It looks like she has worked for the Royal Family and has been recognized for it.

Does anyone know what medals they are ?

Princess Alexandra, for example, has more medals than the Duchess but dosn't wear them with evening wear.

They are actually "miniatures". but I have no idea if this make any difference.
In any case, the Duchess of Gloucester glittering with diamonds and medals (or miniatures), is a sight to behold.
