Marie Anne von Simson, née Altgravine zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Krautheim und Dyck, passed away on 8 December 2015, aged 82.
She was born at Alfter on 18 August 1933, the second daughter of Fürst Franz Joseph zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Krautheim und Dyck and of his wife, née Princess Cäcilie zu Salm-Salm.
She married firstly in 1964 to the Hon. Alexander Campbell Geddes (1910-1971), humself a son of Auckland Geddes, 1st Baron Geddes, and of his wife, née Isabella Gamble Ross; Alexander's sister was Margaret, wife of Prince Louis of Hesse and by Rhine.
After her first husband's death, she remarried to art historian Prof. Otto von Simson (1912-1993).
She had two children by her first marriage, Camilla (Mrs. Mark Mc Donnell) and Stephen Campbell Geddes.
She is survived by her children, children-in-law and grandchildren, as well as by her sisters Isabella (Dowager Duchess von Ratibor and Fürstin von Corvey) and Cecilie.
