According to HLN there are great concerns about Princess Marie Christine. An 'old friend' spoke to magazine 'Story' and claims that the princess is manipulated by her husband. 'He can talk her into anything he wants. He convinced her that she is afraid of flying so he could gamble away her money". The magazine also spoke to Pss Esmeralda, who speaks about 'a sad situation'.

The story of this princess is very strange.
I just found out she was a half-sister of Baudouin and Albert II and Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte of Luxembourg.

On April 17, 2007, in a rare interview, she said that "the abolition of the monarchy may be beneficial to Belgium."

Apparently she has no connection with the Belgian Royal Family and most of her family.
If she's being manipulated by her husband, the situation is even more complicated.

The magazine Point de Vue investigated the life of Princess Marie-Christine, or so I gathered.

What happened to her was abominable and I'm glad she has been able to cut the ties to everything that could remind her of the thing.
Now this is someone who truly didn't care to profit from her pain.

I remember being very moved when she sent flowers to her brother's funeral.

They do have a relationship, Esmeralda has lived outside of Belgium for many many years, currently lives in China, but she does return several times per year. She also gets along with her nephews, especially Laurent.

Prince Alexander married Lea and announced it to his Mother 7 years later. It was a happy Wedding
Princess Marie Christine married Paul Drake without having asked King Baudouin permision. She divorced 3 weeks later . A never seen in our Royal Family. She married a second time Jean Paul Gourges, but to long to explain . We noticed she did not attend her Father , King Baudouin, Princess Lilian, and Prince Alexandre funerals. She was seen doing shopping with Prince Alexandre in Waterloo. Princess Maria Esmeralda had a great repect for her Father King Leopold III and took care of his Fondation . She told me also she did not see a lot Princess Marie Christine.
When Dapné / Marie Christines he was young she was nice , but what a surprise her quick Wedding with Paul Drake and divorcing 3 weeks later. ??
Will she come back in Belgium not sure. She should never write her unpopular book for money !

Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia has also spoken very fondly about his aunt, Princess Lilian, in several Instagram posts. While Princess Marie-Christine is entitled to her opinions and her feelings it's obvious that many members of her family do not share them and the often repeated take that not one sibling has the same upbringing or the same parents seems very fitting in regards to the family at Argenteuil.
