I'd forgotten about the Danish Royal Family Order of King Frederik X!

The only way to find out if he has created his own family order will be when people starts wearing it…

I thought it would be done in time for the coronation but it was not, so i don’t know when it can be expected… If he had decided to discontinue that tradition, i don’t think they would have continued to wear the QEII Family Order either but they have…
Last year around the time when the diplomatic reception was held some reporters wrote on X that there will be and ChIIIFamily Order but that it wasn't ready yet. And often they get inside Informations from the Palace

What is our explanation He receive the Collar of the Order of Carlos III and not the Golden Fleece ?
Just my random guess: maybe Spain will only give out the golden fleece when they are the host of the visit?

CG and Elizabeth both received theirs during a visit to Spain while they both have hosted another visit from Spain before it. Akihito also received it during his visit to Spain which Spain had made a visit to Japan before it as well, Akihito received it as the heir instead of the monarch though. (BTW is he the one foreign heir received it?) Harald, Beatrix and Albert all received theirs during their first visit to Spain (which happens to be their first visit with Spain ).

The exceptions are: Olav who received it in a incoming visit from Spain (probably because he was one of the most senior monarch at that time), Margrethe who got it after she had visited and received a visit from Spain (probably because the order is available for female after her two visits?), Henri who got it in an incoming visit after he had hosted a visit from Spain, and GD Jean who I found nothing.

Wonder why no exception was made for Queen Juliana who was the almost most senior monarch (the only who reigned longer was Prince Franz Josef of Liechtenstein) in Europe at the time King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia paid their State visit to the Netherlands in march 1980. It was then clear that she would not make a return Visit as she had already announced her abdication. Or was perhaps that the reason that 1 month later she would not a reigning monarch anymore?

King Albert II received the Collar of the Spanish Order of the Golden Fleece when King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia came on State Visit in Belgium in 2000.

Below is a list of the current foreign honors held by King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark. I am wondering about any exchange of additional honors when state visits happen with the countries listed below given there are already 2 outgoing state visits next month and I would not be shocked if there is another one late this year or early next year.

Queen Mary of Denmark Foreign honours[edit]

King Frederik X of Denmark Foreign honours[edit]

Today, on the occasion of his 56th birthday, King Frederik X of Denmark has awarded HM Queen Mary the Grand Commander's Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog. The cross/badge she received previously belonged to Prince Henrik, husband of Queen Margrethe. The cross has been refurbished and the monogram changed to that of King Frederik. With the addition of Queen Mary, only one available alot remains open as there can only be 8 Grand Commanders at a time.

In addition to Queen Mary, the other Grand Commanders are King Frederik, Queen Margethe, Prince Joachim, Princess Benedikte, King Harald of Norway and King Carl Gustav of Sweden.

This blog post explains how the Swedish orders should be worn:

Are they new members of the Austrian Golden Fleece whose Grand Master is Archduke Karl ?
Are they new members of the Order of the Starry Cross whose GrandMistress is Archiduchessa Gabrielle.?
In the past only 3 Members of the Belgian high Nobility received the Order. They passed away , I dot know if their eldest Son could be Member ?

Love this photo from the Egypt State Visit to Denmark.
We can see their family orders and other jewelry.

Benedikte with the family order of her father King Frederik IX.
Marie with Queen Margrethe's. And Mary with her husband's, King Frederik X
They all look fantastic! You can also see the slight difference in their Orders - Queen Mary's (Being the Supreme Class) has additional precious stones adorning the breast start and the badge on the sash is different. While the First Class level order that Princesses Marie and Benedikte have is less adorned. The sash is the same. Yes, lovely to see the 3 different family orders being worn. I am not a fan of wearing every family order a person has. At some point it starts to look messy and the orders are difficult to even really see. But that is my personal preference.

The 3 ladies look amazing in this photo!

Order of the Golden Fleece:
The Distinguished Order of the Golden Fleece is a Catholic order of chivalry founded in 1430 in Brugge by Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, to celebrate his marriage to Isabella of Portugal. Today, two branches of the order exist, namely the Spanish Fleece and the Austrian Fleece; the current grand masters are King Felipe VI of Spain and Karl von Habsburg, head of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, respectively. The Grand Chaplain of the Austrian branch is Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna.

The Begians Kings never wore the Order in Belgium , except on the State Visit of King Juan Carlos where King Albert II received the Spanish Order , he had already the Austrian.
Prince Albert for his wedding day wor the NeckCollar of the Order of Malta and King Baudouin the big collar of the Order of Isabelle la Catholique. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The Royal Order of Order of Saint-Michel/Saint Michel which was established by Louis XI in 1469 with the Abbey of Mont St Michel was its headquarters.
The king wanted his new order to rival the Golden Fleece and Order of the Garter.
The Order was abolished in 1791 but reinstated by Louis XVIII only to be abolished again in July 1830.
