"HESTELIV 13. FEBRUAR: (Translation summary please)"
Horselife(name of the program)
Olympic Horselife(the particular episode)
Princess Märtha Louise meets both Olympic and Paraolympic equestrians who have special bonds with their horses. In the next episode of "Horselife", we will also see how they and their horse get to know and understand each other better.
Olympic winner Pippa Funnel and her horse, Supreme Rock, are currently the best in the world. To be a master like Pippa, she and her horse have to be as one when it comes to communication. Princess Märtha Louise meets with Pippa to find out how she and her horse communicate so closely and well together as if through a language that they both know.
In England, the Princess meets British rider Lee Pearson. He has won 3 gold medals in the Paraolympics and shows us an incredible example of how a horse can listen and learn to be absolutely independent of a rider´s physical strength.
-It is amazing to see how much control Lee almost has over this heavy animal says Princess Märtha Louise.
"Riding Blindly"
Princess Märtha Louise gets a special challenge when she meets Norwegian rider Anne Cecilie Ore and her horse Happy. Anne Cecilie is completely blind but along with Happy she competes at a high level in Dressage(For the neophyte, that´s where they basically go slow and look like they are almost hopping and without jumping over any fences or puddles or whatever. It´s all about style and elegance) for the Norwegian national team in the ParaOlympics. It(dressage) dates back to a time when it was absolutely critical for a rider to do well when they were in a crowd together and how to operate in such a manner as in dressage(Short steps and such things. Be rather dainty in a way. Just very precise. Not long striding steps)
Happy is a fullblood horse and even an experienced rider will have trouble with Happy but the Princess(clap clap) tries to ride Happy but with a bandage over her eyes.
See how Princess Märtha Louise does in her challenge in the last episode of Horselife on Sunday on TV2 at 20:00.(that was easy).
Princess Märtha Louise meets Olympic Winner Pippa Funnel, who among other things, demonstrates how to communicate with a horse through a collective language.(I´m thinking English in the case of Pippa).
Special note about Pippa that I remember(of course) from the Olympics in Greece. Apparently, Pippa sounds a little too close to a dirty word in Greek so the announcers called her by her full name which is Philippa which is also ironic as well).
