I wonder if QR will be accompanying KA during his visit to Palestine and Israel. I'd love to see more of her on foreign visits with KA. There haven't been enough of those this year.I know she wants to be home more but she'll most likely be bringing little Hashem along anyway.
Princess Salma has probably started going to school by now.

oh ya poor Rania :(

she is putting alot of make up (as usual) while she is riding :D she is absolutely has a fake face look at her

Oh for goodness sake, she's got a bit of lipstick and blusher on. And she's not the only woman with make-up on in those pictures, so what's the big deal?

Yuo didn't make me "that mad". I do dislike being told to "open my eyes" just because my opinion is different to yours.

LOL, true! :) I don't understand why one, whether it be Rania or the other gals, finds it necessary to look so glamorous for biking. :p

what I find interesting is the continuous objectification of this woman. Here we have pictures from a serious event and all some can talk about is makeup.
Rania is a free woman and she can wear as much or as little makeup as she wants, whether she's biking or not. She's not trying to look glamorous. She has her hair in a ponytail like most times, is wearing a hat, simple t-shirt and pants.
Maybe she didnt have time to wash off her makeup because just before the peace ride she was visiting nearby villagers (pictures on previous pages)
Its quite telling that instead of appreciating her participation in this symbolic event, the fact that she took time out to not only make an appearance but ride and meet with those women, after her visit in Jaber village, all some people can focus on is superficialities. That says more about the thinking of such people than anything else.

She's not? What's a painted face and earrings for then? I don't think there's anything wrong with make-up, jewelry, looking pretty, but to say that the glamorous end result is unintentional?

If anything, her make-up got heavier. Besides, didn't these occur on 2 separate days?

Jordan's Queen Rania (C) rides her bicycle with members of the Follow Women Foundation, which is campaigning for peace in the Middle East, near Jaber border, about 100 km (62 miles) north of Jordanian capital Amman September 22, 2005. Jordan's Queen Rania Al-Abdullah (L) talks to Bedouin women September 21, 2005, as she visits the remote village of Jaber, one of the kingdom's most impoverished areas where unemployment and poverty is rampant. The Queen met with a number of the village women listening to their needs as they spoke of their suffering and the harsh reality of living in poverty. REUTERS/Naser Ayoub

Was it a totally spontaneous event? Her joining the ride I mean. Even so, even though I'm of course glad that she participated, I don't see how it's a huge, magnificent sacrifice. She's a queen, isn't this their job?

The Newcom caption is misleading.

Amman/Sep.21(Petra)-- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, on Wednesday, was on hand to receive a group of women cyclists from 20 countries who are cycling for peace across the Middle East.

.........During their short break, Queen Rania, who was on a tour of the nearby village of Jaber (see separate story) dropped in to join local community residents and students in welcoming the cyclists who are part of the Follow the Women Organization.

both stories were posted on Page 4 already.

Well, even better. Rania did an entire change directly before then.

I think it was made to sound deliberately spontaneous. Obviously it was all pre-planned.

I think it is impressive maryshawn. But I also think thats how active and hands on a modern Queen should be. There should be more to this role than just showing up an event holding flowers, opening exhibitions, museums etc. Sadly that seems to be the extent of the duties many of the European princesses and queens perform. Thats not a criticism on them in any way since the nature of the monarchy in Europe is so different. The ME is a different place however and its good to see its first ladies be so involved.

I was struck by the latest pictures too because Rania actually toured a little village, met with local women, children, and then joined the peace march all in one afternoon.

Some more pictures from Viennareport:

You would think she could wear some more "traditional" clothing.I mean is the hat with the logo really necessary?I thought she was visiting locals, not appearing in front of designers.Yeah, I already know, many of you are getting red just reading this.I am sorry if you find anything offensive.(I can already see little_star writting a reply!:D )

maybe she should've been wearing her traditional dress while biking, the one she was wearing while visiting villagers:rolleyes: I guess it doesnt matter that everyone else was wearing what Rania was, including Asma Assad when she took part in the march in Syria.
the comment about the hat is astonishing. dont most hats have logos of some sort? Its just a hat, one you can buy for a few bucks almost anywhere.
Millions of people wear hats with that logo, its not some exclusive label only available to royals. I saw the King of Norway wearing a jacket with a North face logo. Does that mean he was impressing designers?
I only wonder why such perceptive and productive comments are made in this thread.

The article, nor I, said it wasn't pre-planned. It might well have been, to ensure security. Thats normal for any event a royal participates in, esp. for the JRF whose members' lives have been threatened publicly by terrorists. Despite that some members of the royal family, like KA, and yes Queen Rania, have been known to make spontaneous visits, with security accompanying them.

Annan: King Abdullah II Plays Key Role Achieving Peace Agreements</FONT></STRONG>

Pet1084 4 0234 Annan: King Abdullah II Plays Key Role Achieving Peace Agreements New York/Sep.26(Petra)-- Un Secretary general Kofi Annan on Monday praised his meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II in New York last week, describing as successful and coped with political events. Jordan's role is well known at the int'l arena and has its weight, because its leadership enjoys a respect at the international level, Annan added UN Secretary General praised Jordan's capability of fighting and eliminating terrorism, noting to Jordan's vast experience in this regard. This is not true. Rania usually doesn't wear a lot of make up that is quite simple and natural. Anyway ,each royal lady wear make up in their freetime ,too.

? She's got full face make-up, dark eye make-up and lip make-up. If that's not heavy I dont know what is. Again, I don't think there's anything wrong with make-up, but people always says she never wears it heavy. I constantly see her with the full shebang, often in broad daylight. To be honest, the one time I can think of from a few years ago when she had none on, I felt she looked her best.

i totally agree with you

you feel that she is always ready for a party ,

i saw her once, her face was painted with foundation , blusher , and everything

you hardly can find a photo for her without make-up, i think after all these plastic surgeries , she can't go out without make-up

The famous people don't appear without make up. Rania is not the only one, look at Mary ,Letizia or any royals . You will find hardly pictures about them without make up.
