President Lee visits Sweden
Today, July 12 2009, Sweden’s royal family received South Korea’s President Lee Myung-Bak with First Lady Kim Yoon-ok at Sollidens castle, on the island of Oeland.
Crown Princess Victoria’s fiancé Daniel Westling was also attending the event. It was his first official appearance after the kidney transplantation.
Yesterday the South Korean President visited the small eco-friendly Swedish city Hammarby. Lee flew to Stockholm earlier in the day from Italy. There he attended the expanded summit of the G-8 and the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate.
The trip to the Sweden is linked to Lee Myung-Bak’s plan to announce that his government will make green growth its new national development strategy.
The South Korean president is in Sweden for a 3-day trip. During his stay he will meet King Carl Gustaf and Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.
