Spanish King And Queen Attend “La Caixa” Scholarship Event In Barcelona

King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the “la Caixa” scholarship event in Barcelona today. Their Majesties handed out 120 scholarships for postgraduate studies at universities around the world: 65 in Europe, 48 in North America and 7 in Asia.

During King Felipe’s speech, he said “to the progress of our country always remembering and thanking the opportunity offered and who knew ye will win you with your worth and your work”. He went on saying “Training is an inevitable process that can never be terminated.”

This is the first time King Felipe has attended this event. For the past 25 years it has been attended by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.
