Dutch Royals on State Visit to the UAE, Day Two

Today, Monday January 09,  the second and last day of the state visit for the Dutch Royals to the UAE began in Masdar City.

The Dutch Royals were received by Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, CEO of Masdar, and visited the company PRT (Personal Rapid Transit). Queen Beatrix, Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima attended a meeting with Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Trade, government officials and CEOs of Emirati and Dutch companies to discuss a number of possible strategic co-operations to promote economic relationships.

Later in the morning, the Dutch Royals left Masdar City, to fly towards Dubai by helicopter.

They arrived in Dubai in the early afternoon, the Queen along with the Crown Prince Couple were received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai at Zaabeel Palace. At the meeting Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was also present.

After, the Dutch Royals moved to Jebel Ali, where they made a boat trip through the harbor. Back in Dubai in the late afternoon, Queen Beatrix with Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima attended a reception for the Dutch community in the Emirates at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

On January 10, the Dutch Royals will start a three-day state visit to Oman.
