What do you think of Infanta Sofia of Spain wearing the Niarchos Ruby Tiara?

:previous: Queen Leonor of Spain would look lovely wearing the Niarchos Ruby Tiara.

I do hope the Infanta's get to use the Niarchos Rubies. I cannot claim ot be a fan of the tiara, but the other pieces are very usable. Perhaps Leonor might have a go at having them reset to end with a wearable tiara.

If they get to wear them i hope they change the frame as it it looks horrible with that wide base or whatever it is which is bigger then the small bandeau itself.

I wish it remains as a necklace. The rubies are beautiful, the tiara? Not really.

Question for anyone with more information on tiaras. when do the underage royals get to wear them? To this day I've never seen Princess Leonor wear one.

The general rule in Europe these days is 18.

If the Niarchoses gave the Angoulême ruby tiara instead. But sigh.

Where does the information that the Niarchos family acquired the Angoulême ruby tiara come from? I've always been curious about this rumor, as I've never seen photos of a lady from that family wearing it.

I don’t know but it’s always been said that the Niarchos family bought it and Stavros Niarchos the elder also purchased Empress Josephine’s emeralds from her tiara. The Niarchoses are very private so of course highly unlikely anyone would see pictures of it being worn. I assume it’s in a bank vault or put in a trust.

What a shame that would be! Not that the Niarchos family bought the jewels, but that such beautiful and historic pieces would languish away in a vault forever. I hope one day we see them trotted out on the head of a new princess as a complete surprise.

I thought that Empress Josephine's emerald tiara was the one worn by Queen Sonia. Was there another one?

I would be surprised if Isabel gets a loan from her grandmother. I think she will either borrow one of CP Mary's tiaras or get a new one.

That tiara has been loaned out multiple times, including to Princess Theodora and it’s appropriate for a younger person and that’s why I thought of it.

Given Queen Margrethe's known interest in jewelry design does anyone think she might design new tiara's for her granddaughters? Her mother, Queen Ingrid, had new tiaras made out of existing jewelry for 2 of her daughters.
So could Princess Isabella's first tiara be one designed by her grandmother?

Here's a breakdown of the 18th birthday tiara's received by the last princesses of Denmark: https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/20...-tiaras-princesses-of-denmark.html#more-40475

What tiara do you think Lady Louise Windsor will wear at her future wedding? Because she seemed to be close to Queen Elizabeth II, maybe she will wear Queen Mary's Fringe tiara like she did at her wedding. Or maybe she will wear a tiara that has not been seen in a long time like Queen Adelaide's Fringe tiara.

I think she'll wear her mother's wedding tiara as that's now the best Wessex tiara. Zara Tindall wore her mother's tiara (inherited from the DoE's mother via the Queen) but the York girls didn't have a family tiara* so they were loaned tiaras from the Queen.

*The assumption is that their mother no longer has it as it hasn't been seen for years and it's likely that at least one of them would have worn the 'York tiara' if it still existed.

I disagree. Beatrice and Eugenie are princesses of the blood, so it's not a far stretch that they would want to wear a tiara from their father's royal family collection instead of the one purchased for their parents' failed marriage. Some people can be superstitious like that.

Like Eugenie breaking out the Greville Kokoshnik, I see Louise debuting something that's been buried in the vault for a while. If not, then her mother's tiara from Edward and Sophie's seemingly successful marriage.

You're right - the tiara's absence could have been due to their sadness about the marriage's failure and also it would invite photo comparisons with their parents' wedding day, which might not have been welcome.

The only difference is that Beatrice and Eugenie got a tiara loaned by their grandmother which sadly will not be the case for Lady Louise

What do you think will be Leonore and Adrienne's future wedding tiaras? I assume their possible wedding tiaras are the Modern Fringe, the Aquamarine Kokoshnik , the Cameo, and the Connaught tiaras.

If they want to wear tiara in their wedding, most possible choice for Leonore and Adrienne would be Madeleine's wedding tiara modern fringe or her 18th birthday aquamarine bandeau, seem that both are/will be her own property or lifetime loan to her.

The aquamarine kokoshnik probably will be/is already back to the family foundation vault so it depends on would Victoria load it to her nieces for their big days.

I don't think the Cameo or the Connaught are possible considered that Madeleine has never worn the former and only worn the latter few times (I think twice?). For the Cameo I'm pretty sure the next wearer of next generation will be Estelle only.

Anyway it could be a private wedding in far future so we might never know.

If Lady Louise gets a tiara loaned from the royal family collection would it not be Uncle Charles the King who presents her with the tiara?

I wonder if Mette Marit and Ingrid Alexandra will wear Sonja's Modern Gold tiara someday. If they dislike the tiara, maybe Martha Louise will inherit it.

:previous: I don't think it would look good on Mette-Marit's blond hair, but I do hope to see it on Ingrid or even Maud, they both have brown hair like their grandmother, which would look great with yellow gold. If ML inherits it, I wish she swaps her pearl one for it with her brother :D

The sapphires earrings are really lovely, not overly keen on the rest :previous:

I wonder if Mary, Christian future wife, Isabella, or Josephine will wear Margrethe's Golden Poppies and Naasut tiaras someday.

I think Mary, with her dark hair, could potentially do justice to the Naasut tiara.

As for the poppies: Maybe in a new setting? The current setting will probably put off the younger generation.
As for the Naasut tiara: It's an official gift from Greenland, so imho, it should be reserved for the queen and not be worn by princesses. I hope that future queens will honor Greenland by wearing it from time to time.
