Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: Church Service, Carriage Procession - May 19, 2018

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
For those who want to know- Bishop Michael Curry was on the tv show The View today. He mentioned that Harry and Meghan are those ones that chose the scripture passage -The Song of Solomon- for him to preach. Love poetry. He said the couple preached the sermon before he did. I just find this amazing.

That seems interesting, I never really thought Harry was really religious.

I wanted to see a close up of his ring too. What's wrong with these photographers, that was one of their jobs!! ;)

Me too! I was just irritated at the wedding camera positions, that they covered hers but not his ring. So let's all keep eyes peeled for better snaps of his left hand. If anyone is so inclined, please tweet your fav BRF photog that you would love more snaps of Harry's ring. I've seen success in the past when more than one of us asks for something specific. When they know it will be of interest, they bother to carry the extra camera with the long telephoto, knowing people are looking for "that shot."

Fingers crossed.

Btw, did anyone see The Earl of Wessex and Harry share a joke while Harry and William were sitting together waiting for the wedding to start?

No. The lipreaders were around picking up Harry worried about Meghan, jokes about tight pants from William etc at that time. What did Edward say? I noticed he was smiling at Harry and Meghan at several points in the service.

I can't tell what he said, but it was a nice interaction between the uncle and nephew given how nervous Harry looked then.

Just noticed this, but I think we all noticed Harry's nerves the day of the wedding, but he did seem to be much more relaxed when his bride got there.

He was probably still worried she'd make a run for it once she realized what she was signing up for!

I often like to try to find least expected links, even-though it often does make any sense, but it is still funny

“Leave it to Princess Charlotte to secretly run the show on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s big day.

Fans loved when she stuck her tongue out in the car and did her royal wave on the steps of St. George’s Chapel on Saturday, but it turns out that behind the scenes, Charlotte, who served as a bridesmaid in the royal wedding, took control of the other children in the wedding party.

“She was really sweet,” a royal wedding guest tells PEOPLE. “There was one girl who wanted to go and she said, ‘No you can’t go yet. We have to wait until we are asked.’ She was really

Actually almost everyone in Canada knows these things but I didn't expect someone from another country to notice. :flowers: Are you sure you're not Canadian? ;)

I don’t know why the Queen wasn’t in the front row like every other wedding ?

Also she was not involved. William had to get up and move so his father could so and sign the registrar. If Elizabeth and Philip has been seated in the front row, they would have had to move to allow Charles out. Or they would have had to be seated further down. But it would have been wrong for them to be seated further down like where Kate is. Putting her up in the second row gave her a better view, and meant both her and Philip could stay put.

Westminster doesn't have the choir barrier infront of the royal guests. So Elizabeth wouldn't be required to move for anyone.

Yes, like Meghan's other friend Sophie's husband, Ben would have spent part of his childhood there (his father was PM when he was 8-17).

Unfortunately Sussex is likely Buckingham, old and creaky and needing major work. The current Trudeaus reside in Rideau cottage on the grounds of Rideau Hall (home of the Governor general) though they also have a summer residence. Thankfully for the Trudeaus, unlike Nott's cottage, cottage isn't a great word to describe Rideau cottage. Its a 22 room house.

She was in the second row (with an empty seat in front of her) at Charles and Camilla's blessing service too. Edit: And the wedding of Peter Phillips.

At Edward and Sophie's wedding she had a separate chair, basically where Harry sat during the service (with William before and with Meghan during).

I read somewhere that the second row seat has become her go-to for anything she attends in that chapel. For whatever reason, it's just her favorite. And because it's her favorite, it's become the spot of honor, therefore the equivalent on the other side was offered to Doria as an honor for the mother of the bride.

I can't seem to find it now to post here, but last night I saw a clip of Brian Mulroney on a Canadian morning chat show talking about his sons' experience as pageboys. He said the boys didn't really understand how many people would be there, despite adults trying to explain it, and so they were wowed and thrilled on the car ride over. They'd told the boys to feel free to wave at anyone who waved at them, so they just waved the whole time in the car with Meghan. He said his son who grinned so big at the start of the ceremony said afterwards that he'd never heard a trumpet before in real life and it was grander a sound than he expected.

Mulroney also said that the kids had a couple of chances to get to know each other before the big day; it sounded like they had a couple of playdates in addition to the rehearsal. They wanted all the children to feel comfortable with each other since they were going to be spending a long day in each other's company, and by the end of it he said they all seemed like buddies or a little "club."

Probably Ben, not Brian. Ben is the children's father, Brian their grandfather.:flowers:

It had to have been an experience those boys will never forget. Their excitement and awe was fun to watch, and they did an excellent job with that veil.

I always love watching the little bridesmaids and pageboys and this group didn't disappoint. I enjoyed reading this story too. Thank you for posting it.

That was very cute-----I agree.?

I saw when Meghan first got out of the car upon her arrival. She went up the chapel steps. Where was her bridal bouquet?

She didn’t have it. Someone handed it to her right after she entered the church gate. I thought it was Kate based on the color of the dress, but I’m not sure.

None of them had their flowers, they were waiting at the chapel for them. Just as she entered the church, and was being greeted by the priest, you see someone come up and hand her the bouquet.

I watched everything with a lot of expectation that Meghan would show some respect to the Queen. I was sadly dissappointed. Not once in the church nor after the ceremony when legally she became a subject under the Queen Elizabeth II , did she curtsy to her. Most shameful of a new person in the family to show such disrespect. However , I hope that she soon gains enough knowledge of the enormity of the Queens life time responsibilities and burdens for her country to show her some common courtesy if not the regal kind.

There has been a lot of discussion about this untrue slight everywhere and it has been disproven.

Meghan curtsied and Harry bowed immediately after "God Save the Queen" before they began the recessional. The cameraman cut to an overhead shot and it was not obvious but if you watch carefully you can see it.

Meghan most certainly curtsied to the Queen. The camera gave an above shot, so it wasn't clearly shown. There was no way she wouldn't curtsy to the Queen.

Having looked at the Procession again I am doubly happy they chose the Ascot Landau. With the relative narrowness of the streets in Windsor and the depth of the crowd, had they not used the higher Ascot Landau, the crowds and even the TV cameras would never have seen or filmed anywhere near as much with of Harry and Meghan during the Procession.
