Willem-Alexander & Máxima's Visit to Mongolia: June 14-18, 2006
Crown Prince Willem-Alexander & Crown Princess Maxima will make an official visit to Mongolia 14-18 June 2006.
Before that, they will attend the Diamond Jubilee of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand on 12-13 June 2006

His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange and Her Royal Highness Princess Máxima, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, will attend in June the celebration of the 60-birthday Coronation Jubilee of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. In connection to the visit, the Prince and Princess will make an official visit to Mongolië, that this year celebrates its 800-birthday of existence.
The Prince and Princess are on Monday, 12 and Tuesday, 13 June in Bangkok will be present at the official festivities that the Thai government organizes on the occassion of the King's diamond jubilee. The celebration, are held on different locations in the Thai capital, and will be attended by representatives of a large number of foreign sovereigns house and governments. In January 2004 the Prince of Orange accompanied the Queen during her state visit at Thailand.
The Princely pair will visit Mongolia on Wednesday, 14 until Sunday, 18 June, on invitation of the Mongolian government, in the frame of the 800-birthday existence of the Mongolian state. In 1206, the different Mongolian tribes were united for the first time. The most contacts between the Netherlands and Mongolië finds place directed in the frame of development cooperation, with name on the environment. The netherlands supports among many the preservation of the Hustai Nuruu-steppe territory and the herintroductie of the Przewalski-horse.

Thursday 15 June - 09.15 Visit to the mayor of Ulaanbaatar.
- 10.00 Visit to the parliament.
- 13.15 Visit to Xacbank, asset on the territory of micro credit.
- 15.30 Visit to Museum of National History.
- 16.30 Meeting/Audience with Mongolian students.
Friday 16 June - 09.00 Visit to the Gandaan Monastery.
- 11.00 Attend the mini-Nadaam. (a cultural festival in Mongolia)
- 16.00 Visit to Hustai National Park, with overnachting in ger-camp.
Saturday 17 June - 08.30 Paardrijrit in the surroundings of the ger-camp.
- 12.15 Visit to traditional ger-community in the Hustai Park Zone.
- 16.20 Meeting with Dutch Community and Mongolian old-students in the Netherlands.
- 19.00 Official dinner, offered by the President of Mongolië, N. Enkhbayar.
Sunday 18 June - 10.30 Departure of the Prince and Princess to the Netherlands.

I wonder where are they flying first before arriving at Ulaan Baatar since they left Bangkok quite early this morning.

Their flight on the KBX takes them to Ulaanbatar via Chengdu,China.But as it happened,they already have a delay of several hours there.Besides that,the weather at Ulaanbatar is unpredictable,often causing flights to be cancelled.

After an overnight delay in Chengdu, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander & Crown Princess Maxima finally arrived in Ulan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia.
Here they are on their welcome ceremony and given the honor guard. They met the Mayor of Ulan Baatar & also visited the parliament.

Maxima's hat is huge!!! First the pink one in Thailand and now this!  Her peeptoe heels are great though. They're program seems pretty busy for five-day trip. Hope they have a lot of fun in Mongolia!
