I couldn't find anywhere else to put this.

I was under the impression that Lindon was unfaithful in their relationship as well, and that's the reason she ended up with EA. Supposedly he comforted her through the breakup.

Did he have a daughter with another woman when she was dating Caroline or shortly after leaving her?

So they both now have daughters around the same age.... and he is separated according to IMBD. I always thought there were so lovely together, never felt the remotest connection with her and Ernst. Would be nice if fate came knocking on the door again.

It was my understanding that the relationship ended due to him being Jewish.

Lindon was very handsome in the 90s. I like his look in pics of him with the Casiraghis, taking them to school and stuff. If the relationship failed because of religion, that's sad. He seemed like a good guy, just going on the "looks" of things, of course. I never heard or read that he was unfaithful to Caro. But maybe.... I'm reading a bio about the Grimaldis now. I haven't gotten to Lindon yet.

But Ernst didn't convert. And with Albert, Stephanie, and Caroline having kids outside marriage, divorce, etc. I wouldn't think---and I could most certainly be wrong, because I don't know them--religion is that much of an issue for them.

Caroline was not w/child when she was with Lindon. Plus I dont think Rainier made any demands on Ernest because of his aristocratic rank. Alex is the only child of Caroline not born in Monaco. If you think about it, Ernest made it a point for Alex to be born in Austria

I agree. They don't seem strict with religion in their private lives. They are Catholic, but they aren't rigid, and that's great, imo. There are few things worse than a person who cannot ever change under any circumstances, because of religion, of what the Pope says, or what "it says in the Bible".

This is a little off topic, but last time I checked Alexandra was 407th in line for the British throne. And yes, as far as I know Alex is being raised as a Protestant, and given that her father is a German Lutheran, one would assume she is also.
On the subject of why Vincent and Caroline broke up, I don't usually like to speculate but I heard that they had an argument at the gala dinner after performance to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Ballet Monte-Carlo. It was the first time he'd been allowed to escort Caroline to both the performance and the dinner afterwards but apparently Vincent became annoyed at how Caroline ignored him during the dinner, had an argument with her, said he was leaving and did. But I do agree with you Due, I think the demands Rainier made on Vincent convert to Catholicism, which he did not make on Ernst, were more to do with him being "common" than to do with the conflict in religion itself. The fact that Caroline was pregnant with Alex when they married probably had something to do with it as well, seeing as it usually takes months to complete the conversion process which was time they didn't really have. Still, I agree it's a shame that Vincent and Caroline went their separate ways, whatever the reason. She had something good with him (not she didn't with Ernst), and appeared to be a good father figure to the Casiraghis. I don't think we can lament it too much though, after all, Caroline's marriage to Ernst produced one adorable little daughter!

I also remember reading about Caroline and Vincent's breakup for the reasons mentioned above. Can't remember which book I read it in.

Hmm...let me ask before I pass judgment on that---was she ignoring him purposely to tick him off or was she just mingling with the other guests and there was a miscommunication somewhere along the way? Because I mean, if it's the latter, wouldn't he know that as a princess she HAS to mingle with the other guests. I mean it's not a really romantic time. Even the Casiraghis---who are not necessarily royal---at the Rose Ball don't mingle with their significant others that much during the ball, and that seems to me a way less formal event.
Ah well. Either way, what's done is done. What was meant to happen did.

I remember when the Rose Ball was happening in 2006, Felix was there and hardly seen. Like he entered in the back of some of the other friends, and he and Charlotte were not photographed together; Felix was seen in maybe two pics on getty and neither was published in the magazines though the magazines mentioned his name among the attendees. They were so discreet. Felix sat across from her as per the tradition to have couples opposite each other but besides that, nothing. They weren't photographed dancing together. It seems like a personal preference of Charlotte, though. She doesn't dance with her bf at the ball. She didn't dance with Alex at the ball last year. I bet they waited for the private dancing at Jimmy'z to be together. Her brothers are so much less discreet with their girlfriends, but again, it seems to be a matter of individual preference.

Then she would be falling in the steps of her mother. I really don't think I've seen Caro dance with Ernst at the ball either---but I could be wrong about that.

Due, I believe that the British monarchy only allowed Ernst-August a courtesy title, in other words, if he were ever the last remaining person left, he still would not be able to become monarch.
