Wouldn’t surprise me. The Palace certainly did have advance knowledge of the date. I can’t believe any halfway decent event planner, let alone one that works for the Palace, wouldn’t have thought of this. If the press were prebooking blocks of time before the date, they would definitely get ahead of that.

Bottom line, this has been done before, with Edward and Sophie, and with Peter and Autumn, not so? So how did they handle it? How did Edward and Sophie handle 550 guests?

It’s different. Sophie and Edward wouldn’t have so many foreign guests because Sophie isn’t from another country. On top of that, Sophie and Edward had an afternoon wedding and their guests didn’t have to change between the ceremony and reception. I don’t think that’s feasible in this case given that it’s the same day as FA cup if nothing else. Peter and Autumn had a private wedding and not nearly as much international interest from the media and tourists.

Oh well, there you go: problem solved! Too bad about the airport, though, being so close.

Probably an 'urban legend' but we laugh about an American Tourist exclaiming "Why would you build a Castle under a flight path" !!?
[The Castle dates from the 1060s]...

An airplane actually passed over the Castle during Sophie's vows. I suspect we'll have at least one instance during the wedding in May as well.

Good grief! Starting to make me rethink them getting a country house at Windsor.

When Heathrow began to expand [just prior to WWll] Jet engines had yet to be invented, and no-one had the foggiest idea it would become the behomoth that it has.. a curse to those unfortunate enough to live near it , or worse [like the Royal Family] underneath its flight path..

Mini-buses.
"But even the bigwigs—like the Sultan of Brunei, who brought his two wives—were ferried to the chapel in white minibuses."

The guests arrived in mini buses for Edward and Sophie, however Edward, Andrew and Charles walked down to the church which I think Harry might do too.

They've already announced the engagement and wedding date...seems like the official declaration is rather behind.

William and Kate’s official declaration wasn’t done until February, after the announcements of the engagement and wedding dates.

The Queen and Privy Council still have to issue the formal Declaration of Consent of Marriage for Harry and Meghan.
The Cambridge’s formal Declaration-

Then the document (Instrument of Consent) was released just days before the wedding-

O well, I expect they soon get so accustomed that they don't even notice the planes anymore.

The Daily Mail has proven themselves so wrong more than right. They have no new information except telling us what we already know. Meghan and Harry will be hands on. They told us that themselves.
When did the invites start getting leaked? Trying to figure out the timetable.
