Princess Isabella's confirmation: April 30, 2022

A long list of very close friends.
Perhaps with the exception of Anders Holck Povlsen, all someone who has known Mary from the beginning.

Does anyone know why there was a 7 month gap between Christian turning 15 in October 2020 and his confirmation in May 2021…whereas Isabella’s confirmation was only 10 days after her birthday? Was it a scheduling issue? Are confirmations only held in April/May? Does anyone know the answer…?

Perhaps COVID restrictions played a part in the delay? Much of Europe was in a (semi) lockdown from autumn 2020 until spring time 2021.

I don't know if they are only in April/May but they are usually in April/May. The dates in the RF are: Nikolai: 18.5.2013 (he was 14), Felix: 1.4.2017 (14), Christian 15.5.2021 (15), Isabella 30.4.2022 (15), Frederik 28.5.1981 (2 days after his 13th birthday). The only exception is Joachim 10.6.1982 (3 days after his 13th birthday), probably because he was only 12 in April/May.

Because of the pandemic Prince Christian's confirmation was postponed a few times and eventually took place a year later than planned.

Christian Confirmations almost always take place during Eastertide, the period between Easter Sunday and Ascension Day which is 40 days after Easter.

A few details about Isabella and Athena.

Athena wore a dress by Jacadi. Her shoes are by Jacadi as well.
Her cardigan is by Bonpoint and so is her hair-thingy.

The brooch Isabella wore is christening present from QMII.
Her earrings were borrowed from her mother. - (Perhaps presented to her on the occasion?)
The hair-clasps are also from her mother's jewellery box.

More details on the brooch, including QMII's letter to Isabella on her Christening, where QMII writes that she got the brooch from her farmor, Queen Alexandrine, on her own christening day.

And on the earrings with the pink Australian diamonds.

You already know what happened, so I will add a few tidbits.
The thing in blue standing next to Isabella on the main stairs at Fredensborg and beaming with pride is QMII!

Mary had arrived back from Bangladesh about 48 hours before the confirmation. (The second part of Mary's visit to Bangladesh will be covered later.)
And as you know the inner circle of friends around M&F were invited. Try compare the names with the names of former and current pupils at Herlufsholm.

While the family posed on the stairs Vincent was busy waving some annoying insects. Something that made his sister, Josephine laugh. - (You can always rely on your sisters to laugh at you.)

Isabella wore a brooch she was presented with at her Christening by QMII. The brooch matched a ring she wore by Dulong Fine Jewellery. Consisting of a fresh-water pearl and a guava-quarts that symbolize love.
Her shoes were by Jimmy Choo.
Her hair claps were by Ellen Hunter.
The earrings were by Hartmann.

Mary wore a clutch by Serpui. Shoes from Prada. A dress by GN. And the earrings she got from QMII on her 50th B-day.

Josephine wore a dress by Ganni. Pearl clasps in her hair and a necklace by Georg Jensen.

Our Marie wore a new outfit by Emporio Aramani. A top by Graham & Spencer. A Naleidi Copenhagen clutch and shoes by Gianvito Rossi.

Athena wore a Jacadi dress and shoes, cardigan and hairpiece by Bonpoint.

After the lunch Isabella drove with some friend to change to a dress by Zimmermann and Adidas sneakers.

Also Josephine who returned to the Kancellihus with Athena (that must have been lively!) changed dress for the party.

At the lunch daddy Frederik was the toastmaster. Christian gave a speech to his sister.
Isabella gave a short speech thanking her guests.

Later on it was party-time!
Isabella's guest arrived between 18-19.
The band was Dansesorkesteret - a band Frederik would have danced to when he was in high school.
One of their all time hits is Raindance - about an indianer-girl in South America I think, who dance a raindance for her village.
The girl's name is Isabella, so that got people out on the dance floor.

- You realize you are old, when the music of your youth becomes nostalgic classics for the teens today. :yoda:
