The Princess opened that while hubby Pieter opened the World Championships Skydiving at Teuge airport,a small airport near Apeldoorn,once the scene of the return to the liberated Netherlands of the Dutch Royal Family.

On Saturday, September 29, Princess Margriet has represented her husband at the anniversary meeting of the Foundation The Luntersche Neighborhood Bosch in Lunteren. Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven couldn't attend due to an illness. During the event Margriet received the first copy of the book "The great green heritage".

Princess Margriet has attended the opening of the Centennial Congress of the international Pharmaceutical federation (FIP) in Amsterdam today, October 4, 2012.
The FIP that celebrates its 100th anniversary is the global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.

Princess Margriet today, October 5, opened the interactive exhibition "The story of the totem pole" at the Volkenkunde museum in Leiden. The exhibition shows the world of the Indians of the northwest coast of the US and Canada.

A once more great looking Princess Margriet has attended the 100th anniversary of the Dutch Association of Housewives (NVVH) in Utrecht today, October 10, 2012. The NVVH was founded in 1912 as a union to promote the interests of the Dutch housewife.

Yesterday, November 1, Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven as chair of the Onderzoeksraad voor de Veiligheid (Research Council for Safety) has opened the 3rd Delta National Congress in Rotterdam.

Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven has opened the Van Kregtentunnel in Wierden today, November 5, 2012. The tunnel is named after the teacher and painter Fedor van Kregten (1871-1937).

Princess Margriet currently is in Canada.

As honorary chair of the global health programme's advisory board she was present at the signing of an agreement of joint global health programmes between the University of Maastricht and the McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, yesterday, November 15. Today she'll receive a honorary doctorate at the McMaster's convocation ceremony for her lifelong dedication to international humanitarian work.

As mentioned above Princess Margriet received an honorary doctorate in Hamilton on November 16, 2012.

"It is a tremendous honor for me to receive this doctorate. For just following my passion and stand for what I believe in", Margriet said in her speech.

It's awesome she was born in Canada!...well, international territory inside of Canada at any rate! Nice that she comes back every so often!

Still in Canada Princess Margriet visited the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre in Toronto on November 17, 2012.

She met with 50 Canadian veterans who helped liberate the Netherlands at the end of the Second World War.
