She´s always so... elegant... a pride for the women not? as much by her elegance... as by her roll...

That's the same jacket and necklace she wore to the state visit to Belgium. I like it much better without the hat, it much more toned down now. And the pants are nice too, they seem to be of the same fabric as the skirt of the state visit. I'm just glad she left the hat and the skirt at home...
Her outfit in Belgium:

OK people, it's official: I will have to retract my opinion of princess Maxima.
I just read this article in a Dutch newspaper, and if this is really what she said, she's gained a new fan: moi!
http://www.ad.nl/binnenland/article603887.ece
I'm at work and don't have time to translate, but she gave a speech in which she emphasized how important it is for Dutch society, and for Dutch employers in particular, to embrace the notion of hiring 'new comers and women', and for anyone familiar with the situation in the Netherlands, they would certainly agree.
In any case I couldn't agree more with her and have to admit: there's a wise person behind the glamorous blond looks!

Welcome to the club, Olga.
That was a great speech indeed! I read it too, but since it is such a big text, I don't feel like translating it right now. I spend way too much time in trains today (the whole railway network in the Netherlands was having problems and I spend too much hours on railway stations and standing in too crowded trains, so I'm totally dead now). I just want to look at pictures and give comments on the outfits for the moment. I hope you all can forgive me...

Her purse is cute, but what is it with the Dutch royal women and those unflattering patterns lately?

Wow, that dress makes her look huge! the cut, the color, the pattern - all wrong for her.
I'm also not liking the limpness/straightness of her hair.

I think this one needs to go to the far, far corner of her closet.

I am wondering if this was the dress we just got a peek at on Queensday? Do you recall she was wearing a brown coat most of the time but there was an instant where some material peeked out and I think this might have been it. Sorry, I am horrible with computers so don't know how to post old photos here. At any rate, glad she kept the coat on!

It´s definitely the same dress – and really not one of her most flattering ones. But since Maxima doesn’t repeat her dresses several times, this is hopefully the last time she wears this outfit
BTW here are two pics from Queensday. (ppe)

Well it's not THAT bad...but I do agree that she should not wear this to often...It just zaps her coloring. She looks lifeless and bland.
She looks amazing in red but why does she have to over-do it? She should try mixing in some small details in sober colors....or something like that.

They were taken on Koninginnedag (Queen's Day) on April 29, 2006.
