What can our Australian members tell us about the singer Jessica Mauboy?
She's worth looking at but is she also worth listening to?

Christian really isn't a little boy anymore. I have always thought (and still do) that he has many of his mother's features, but for the first time I today think he is a total mini-Frederik. Handsome boy in his open blazer and short hair :)

I've noticed when Frederik and Mary have the children with them to official events it's very often them he walks in the front line, first greets the people, etc.

Also heard a English journalist saying: We are so proud of you, Mary. I guess it's a journalist from Australian.

BB writes today that the photographer Mario Testino photographed M&F (and perhaps their children as well last year at Amalienborg.
To our reporter, Marianne Singer, testino confirms: "I have worked, not just bor the BRF but (I) also had the opportunity to photograph your Crown Prince and Crown Princess last year. The photographes are the royal documentation of our age and the history of the country".


Lene Balleby confirms that Mario Testino indeed did photograph M&F last year at Amalienborg.

Mario Testino has previously photographed Diana and W&K. There is a very warm pic of W&K in the article.

i think he also did the "young and royal" photos some years ago.
where he photograph most of the crown princes/princess including Frederik

When did Christian become a mini-me of his father?! That boy is going to be a knockout when he's older! Can't believe he's only 10 next year.

Jessica Mauboy was runner-up on Australian Idol back in 2006. She was branded as the next Beyonce, with her R'n'B/soul like voice. She has had success in Australia, winning two Aria's (our equivalent to the Grammy's). She has a voice and it is very good.

She has also acted in several Australian movies, in which she was the star of the movie The Sapphires.

It's hard to believe she is only 24!

Back in 2006? She was very young!

She came across in the brief interview as a sweet girl with no airs.
Perhaps we'll hear more about her from the exposure she got yesterday.

She's also recently appeared on Sesame Street too :)

She is a true country girl. She was born and raised in Central Australia and comes from very humble beginnings. She is a sweet girl who is constantly happy.

She was 16 when she was on Australian Idol, so she was quite young.

Jessica is also of Aboriginal heritage (her mother is Aboriginal and father is Indonesian) and does a lot for Indigenous communities in Northern Australia. She was also nominated for Young Australian Of The Year.

I hope the exposure in Eurovision helps her in Europe. She is an extremely talented artist and deserves success.
 
Its great that Christian and Isabella are learning to greet people with a handshake on their own. They seem pretty confident but shy at the same time.

So do I. I don't know of course where Hello! have their information from, but it's late evening and a long show with countless songs for 3-year olds. Maybe Christian and Bella..

Agree, even Bella may give in and that'll leave a very tired Christian.
But of course a sleeping Bella in the arms of Mary would make über-cute pics.
When is the Danish entry, towards the end or in the beginning? She'll see that but then I think it's bedtime for Bella.

"The Tasmanian-born princess and her husband helped foster a link between SBS and the Danish public broadcaster on their trip to Australia last October, when Crown Prince Frederik held his annual awards ceremony recognising upcoming Danish artists and performers."
“We call it public diplomacy which is an important part of what we’re doing – that is promoting exchanges between our country and other countries,” the Danish diplomat said.

“That can be about tourism, television, it’s about books, performers ... [it's] clearly a growing factor in what we do; sharing our experiences and culture is very important.”

Absolutely, that was also very much about scoring cheap brownie points in Australia, if you'll permit me to be cynical. :p

An almost official Australian entry in the European Song Contest, for the first time. - In Copenhagen and because of the good relations between DK and Australia. That's nice (and cheap) PR from Heaven.
I understand the event has a considerable and faithful following in Australia.
Personally I see no reason why Australia and New Zealand couldn't participate. Both countries have deep roots in European culture and Israel has also been allowed to participate, so why not?

And it has happened before that the real winners were guest performers, just look at Riverdance Company.

I see however dear Mary's dress is a bit transparent :p

But a big congratulation to Austria. Well deserved :)

And congratulations to Copenhagen for delivering a good show. They had recieved Danish criticism in the days leading up to the show and then it all end with a 'well done' from all the 37 countries. Denmark's top showed up - the celebrities, the politicians, our Prime Minister and the icing on the cake our elegant Crown Prince Couple.

Our own Basim did well, but it's a big responsibility and not least very expensive to hold the Eurovision, maybe that's fine we don't have to hold it again next year :whistling:

M+F's 10 year wedding anniversary celebrated in the media:

BB will already be published on Wednesday - the day of the couple's 10 year anniversary - and with an additional surcharge. This article from this morning says they will celebrate it all week. We will see how:
