The ruby and diamond bracelet is also used to allow the tiara to be worn as a necklace and Queen Silvia has worn it like that so yes, the family do have it.

I had not appreciated that, and from the pictures on Tiaramania it is not visible. Might you have any pictures where the bracelet is visible when the tiara is worn as a necklace?

I do not think the ruby and diamond bracelet that was shown in the pictures as a base exists in the SRF collection. Perhaps just a diamond base, as Victoria often uses with various tiaras, could be used with the tiara.

To me it looks that Victoria had the ruby and diamond bracelet connected with the Edward VII Ruby Tiara at the gala dinner of the German state visit last year:

From the exhibition of Crown Princess Margareta last year
"The tiara can be turned into a necklace, and a part of it can be worn as a bracelet". I think this means that the bracelet is in SRF's collection, although it was not at the exhibition.

It would be good to see Queen Silvia or C-P Victoria use the tiara with the bracelet base or the plain collets added to the base.

Svensk Damtidning writes about queen Silvia's gold bracelet. It has eight dangling medallions.
On one it says Nicolas in childish style – the A is big and the L is small, yes you get the idea: He wrote his name himself and then Princess Madeleine had it engraved on a medallion. On the next medallion you can read the name Alexander. And so it continues – with Leonore, Estelle, Adrienne, Gabriel and Oscar. Between every third there is a diamond.

Queen Silvia has also a bracelet "M-o-r-m-o r" (Grandma).

The queen's jewels were tip top for both events:previous:

Man, that tiara photo makes me really with the Order of Sartorial Splendor. They used to call that tiara “Sil’s party antlers.”

Many of the Splendorists have migrated to The Chalet at Mellerio Island on Facebook.

Finally she's wearing the Braganza 12 years later

I wish queen Silvia would not have chosen the Braganza tiara, because the queen has told that it is very heavy, very difficult to keep because it is moving at your head, and very difficult to get it right to its place. She is an elderly lady, it wasn't easy for her to keep this tiara for many hours.

I love the Braganza. Of all the big gun tiaras, it is one of my absolute favorites. I don't blame her for choosing other tiaras at her age, but it was lovely to see it back in action again.

Yes it seems the big guns were indeed out tonight and lovely to see the Braganza tiara again after a lengthy gap!

The Queen wouldn't have worn it if she didn't think that she could handle it. Judging from other things she's said she probably delighted in upstaging Queen Maxima.

That is what i think too. And i think there would stil have been the option to switch to another tiara at short notice if she wouldn't have thought yesterday afternoon that she would not be able to carry it off.

A wonderful surprise to see the Bragança again and that the Queen is honouring the Dutch king and queen by using her best tiara.

Yes, the Stuart tiara did feel smaller than the Bragança one. It was placed morer flat on Queen Máxima's head but still. What a great treat to see them both at the same time!

I think it is also because Queen Máxima wore the Stuart tiara backwards and not upright like the Braganza tiara on Queen Silvia. Would have liked to see a good pic of the 2 Queens standing next to each other.

The Braganca tiara is incredibly beautiful and I am very glad that Queen Silvia finally chose to wear it again. I wonder if the two queens have coordinated their jewels beforehand.

What other things has she said?

I remember the Queen saying that she often thinks of what her royal guests would like to see i.e. Queen to Queen. Hence she made the exception to the rule and took the Braganza out of the country to Denmark for a state visit. I have a feeling Queen Silvia knew exactly what Queen Maxima would have liked to see, but also, that Queen Maxima would bring her best out as well.

I can't make out the necklace but the emeralds earrings and brooch are exquisite looking.
