Hopefully recover quickly without any post-covid symptoms. And hopefully it not transfer to their kids.
 
Wishing the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel a quick and safe recovery.
 
I cannot find any recent 'live' events in the Calendar, only digital events, so it seems they caught it 'privately' - which could be either from visiting friends and family or from one of the staff members.

Hoping for a quick recovery indeed.

Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar must also stay healthy too!
 
Given her national role and his health issues, is there some reason they didn't qualify to be vaccinated before this?

I hope they all recover quickly.

Margareta Thorgren spoke with Svensk Damtidning yesterday evening.
It is unknown where Victoria and Daniel may have been infected, the sports holiday they spent at home in Haga and no one else in their vicinity has been infected.
What does the covid-19 diagnosis mean for Prince Daniel who is at risk?
- He is not vaccinated, he is waiting his turn during Phase 2. And as for this with the risk group, it is the doctors who make that assessment. And the prince is not considered to be in any risk group, says Thorgren.
But according to the national vaccination plan, people who have undergone organ transplantation are now counted as a risk group and have been moved up from Phase3 to Phase2?
- It is the royal family's chief physician and Prince Daniel's doctor who assess it and speak on those issues. Prince Daniel has milder symptoms and feels relatively well.
Thorgren said also that Victoria and Daniel have not met the other members of the royal family recently.

Margareta Thorgren was interviewed at TV4 News morning, she said about Daniel being in a risk group that the court doctors take responsibility about that, Daniel has not been vaccinated and the doctors have judged that he is not in a risk group. Estelle and Oscar don't have any symptoms. Thorgren also highlights that the crown princess family stayed at home during the sports holiday.

Margareta Thorgren said to Svensk Damtidning this evening, that Victoria and Daniel have relatively mild symptoms that manifest themselves as a mild flu. So they feel good under the circumstances. The whole family is in quarantine at Haga Palace. They have staff at home, but there are routines developed to if something like this should happen and they are used now.
Svensk Damtidning asked: There are several who have reacted to what you said yesterday, that Prince Daniel is not in the risk group. He has undergone a kidney transplant. What really matters?
Thorgren said that when it comes to Daniel and the risk group, Daniel's doctor comments on these issues. Thorgren has spoken with the Kidney Association today, and they said that there are people who have undergone a kidney transplant, in Phase 2 in the vaccination queue. Daniel has not been vaccinated yet. Daniel was in very good health and condition before he tested positive for covid-19 and he is now, as Thorgren has said, slightly ill. Other medical questions about the prince the court doesn't comment.
Svensk Damtidning asked, is there anyone who will need to step in for them, for their work?
Thorgen said that only two assignments have been changed so far, the memorial service yesterday and the Armed Forces' greeting that would have taken place on Victoria's name day today. Otherwise, most program items are already digital. Should they need to make changes in the Crown Princess couple's planning, it will only be about minor changes. They will decide on that after the weekend, based on how Victoria and Daniel feel then.
Svensk Damtidning asked: Could it be that Princess Madeleine will be able to take their place and participate in video meetings in the future?
Thorgren said that no, the fact that the Crown Princess couple has covid-19 does not mean that right now there is any need for Madeleine to step in.

Their national role should not give them special treatment. Royals are not more important then anyone else.

Yes Daniel with his health issues I'd think he'd be up the list for the vaccine.

Her role as Crown princess is all the more reason she should not have the vaccine before her time. They have spent the past year being an example for their people. What kind of example would it be 'I have a tiara on my head, I should get a vaccine sooner'?


Praying for a speedy recovery and both their symptoms remain mild.

Hopeffully the kids remain well through this.

Yep and the king and queen actually received negative press when they got vaccinated earlier this year because it was not their "real" turn yet. The king, of course, wanted to give a good example and encourage people to get vaccinated but unfortunately it backfired.
 
Wishing the couple a speedy recovery.

It is so interesting how the vaccination rules vary country to country. I am volunteer covid vaccinator and yesterday I administered 100 vaccines to people aged 94 to 18. The rules have been relaxed to administrator as many vaccines as possible. As long as one is over 16 years of age and can get an appointment- they can be vaccinated!

I hope they make a swift recovery and don't feel too unwell, especially Daniel. I find it hard to believe with his health issues he wasn't higher up the priority list.
I think its right that the European royals get their vaccinations whenever it is their turn the same as anyone else rather than getting special treatment.

In the morning, Victoria ran on Djurgården. This after she left Estelle on Campus Manilla. Victoria, who usually runs in the area, then came home to Haga. When the symptoms appeared, she acted fast: Estelle's school and Oscar's preschool were informed. The children were taken home immediately.

Svensk Damtidning spoke this evening with Margareta Thorgren. She said that Victoria and Daniel are recovering.
The digital inauguration speech that Daniel will give when Sweden's occupational therapists hold their big Arbetsterapiforum tomorrow, is pre-recorded, and it is a recording that was made even before he became ill.
How it will be with the rest of the week's work events for Victoria and Daniel remains to be seen.

Svensk Damtidning asked Margareta Thorgren how is it now with the Crown Princess couple now, after a week with covid-19?
Thorgren said that some meetings are held, but some are also postponed. This is so that the Crown Princess couple will have time for recovery (Victoria, Daniel and the king and queen have today a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde at the calendar).

Carina Bergfeldt does not want to reveal how the discussions about a second season are going with SVT.
However, she maintains that the dream guest is still Prince Daniel.

On March 11, Victoria and Daniel tested positive for covid-19. Now the court says that the crown princess couple are healthy from the virus.

We don't know if they were tested. In Sweden you only get tested if you show symptoms.
 
Victoria and Daniel have been in quarantine at Haga Palace since March 10, when they felt symptoms of a cold. The next day, both tested positive for covid-19.
During the quarantine period, Victoria and Daniel have participated in several digital meetings.
Isn't it important to focus on recovery, Expressen asked.
- A covid-19 infection can look very different, and therefore it is important that when you have tested positive to take the virus seriously. Recovering is something that the Crown Princess couple takes very seriously, Margareta Thorgren says.
Victoria and Daniel had mild symptoms, which has meant that the work has been digital and done from home during quarantine. Victoria and Daniel will have an antibody test before they can leave the quarantine. Thorgren says that the children are back in their respective schools and Victoria and Daniel are waiting for a green light from their doctor before they go out of quarantine.
The royal family will not celebrate Easter together, they follow the Public Health Agency's recommendations and the families celebrate separately.

Crown Princess Victoria's Fund in 2020

Crown Princess Victoria's Fund supports non-profit associations which arranges leisure activities for children / young people with disability. The purpose is to support activities that contribute to active leisure, breaking isolation, increase the quality of life, strengthen self-esteem and to meet new people friends.
In 2020 Victoria broadcast was completed without audience, the broadcast could instead be placed to the beautiful the castle ruins in Borgholm on Öland. The reportage as was carried out around project activities corona-adapted but could be implemented through remote solution for the meeting between the target group and Crown Princess Victoria.
The fundraising for Crown Princess Victoria's Fund amounted to total funds raised of SEK 11 925 555, of that SEK 8 634 286 from gifts from wills. Overall since the start in 1997, SEK 170 783 187 has been collected in the Fund.
In 2020 SEK 16 466 324 was granted from Crown Princess Victoria's Fund for 166 projects (161 individual activities with approx 7 800 participants and five to the pandemic fundraisings).

Kristianstadsbladet writes that consumption is a major contemporary issue, but despite that more people are shopping more and more consciously, Swedes are still among the world's worst when it comes to overconsumption.
In 2014, Jane Fonda wore a fantastic red dress to the Cannes Film Festival. Six years later, she wore the exact same dress at the Oscars. Haakon and Mette-Marit should have made a visit to Sweden in May 2020, but it was postponed due to the Covid19 pandemic. The planning of the visit is going on.

Norwegian Ambassador to Sweden Christian Syse told yesterday at an event in Arntorp that he continued from there to Gothenburg to plan future visit by the Norwegian Crown Prince couple Haakon and Mette-Marit.
- The plan is that they, together with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, will visit both Gothenburg and Stockholm.
