Together with representatives of Generation Pep, Daniel visited Katrineholm to get in-depth information about how the municipality and school work strategically with health issues for the municipality's residents.
At the school, he met the principal, staff and students to hear more about how the school has introduced physical activities and healthier school meals.
Katrineholm municipality is part of Generation Pep's pilot project Pep municipality, five municipalities and an advisory group work to strengthen systematic public health work, with an extra focus on physical activity and healthy eating habits for children and young people.

On Tuesday, May 16, Prince Daniel made an appreciated visit to Stensättersskolan in Katrineholm to support the municipality's commitment to promoting physical activity and healthy eating habits for children and young people. As one of the six selected Pep municipalities in Sweden, Katrineholm has actively worked with Generation Pep to promote a healthy lifestyle for children and young people.
- We are a proud Pep municipality and participate in Generation Pep's pilot project. Together with five other municipalities, we collaborate with Generation Pep and an advisory group to strengthen our systematic work for public health, with extra focus on physical activity and healthy eating habits for children and young people, says Johan Söderberg.

Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft has been interviewed by Femina. At the large interview, she tells among other about her job with Victoria and Daniel at Generation Pep.

Carolina tells that Daniel and his court assistant got in touch and asked for a meeting. Of course Carolina was very curious. Daniel presented the idea and Carolina immediately felt that it was close to her. Sustainability issues were an area she rooted in and where she felt she could have a positive impact. Carolina started as a project manager and is now Generation Pep's operations manager with ten employees. She works two or three days a week in Stockholm and the rest of the time remotely from Järvsö where she and her husband Patrik, in addition to the three daughters aged two to eight, also run the Camp Järvsö conference facility which they renovated and helped start it up.
The reporter asks if Carolina has Victoria's number in her phone and she laughs and answers "maybe". (..)

Victoria and Daniel visited Bara Vanlig organization yesterday. Bara Vanlig is one of the organizations that gets support from The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation and was chosen as the winner of Generation Pep's "Årets Peppare" Prize in 2021. Bara Vanlig Hälsa organizes running training for people with different functional variations.

"We gathered at the Bara Vanlig flag on Grimsta IP, all a little nervous and especially nervous for today's guests.
The evening's guests, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, barely had time to reach the lawn before @kevster1992 greeted everyone and placed us all in a large ring.
Time for warm-up, everything from jumping up, to picking apples/money and running in place.
Everyone was happy, there was laughter and there were jokes.
After the warm-up, we went out together into the track, some walked, others ran or rolled. All completely based on their own ability.
The Crown Princess couple really made sure to catch up with the runners, and to wait for those who rolled or walked. Took time to chat with EVERYONE there, so curious and warm-hearted. So amazing to witness!
Once at the Malteholmsbadet, strawberries, melon, buns and Festis were offered. What a party!
We ended the training with some spontaneous ball, some played soccer and others threw balls. Some stayed on the edge and watched or mingled around. Everyone participated based on their own needs and abilities!
What magic, what joy of movement and above all what community!
The magic that occurs on the track and in training CANNOT be described, but MUST be experienced - yesterday the magic really got to be experienced!

The afternoon began with a joint warm-up at Grimsta IP led by one of the participants. Afterwards, all participants took the track down to Maltesholmsbadet, where the visit ended with shared coffee and ball games where everyone participated based on their own needs and abilities.

Pep Day in Haga Park
Sunday 10 September at 11-15 families are welcome to Pep Day in Haga Park. All children, born between 2011–2017, can participate in the Prince Daniel's Race where all participants are winners and receive a medal. Children with functional variations are welcome to participate in the race together with their social support.
Pep Day is organized by Generation Pep, The Royal Court, The City of Solna, AIK Friidrott and Bara Vanlig.

Aftonbladet interviewed Carolina and asked also about her 40th birthday party.

Carolina Klüft and her husband Patrik live in Järvsö and run a hotel with a focus on exercise and health. A completely different life than as an active athlete. A quieter life, definitely. Carolina has also managed to turn 40.
According to Sportbladet's information, there was a real 40th anniversary at home in Järvsö earlier this year, and also with a royal visit, as both Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are said to have been present at the party.
- Well, you've heard about that... Yes, it's true that I had a party in May, Carolina said.

The Pep Hero is here to take the fight to ill health
The Pep Hero is Generation Pep's new partner in the fight against ill health. All children and young people in Sweden have the right to the best possible health. Even so, few children move enough and eat enough of what the body feels good about, which can lead to devastating health consequences. Now we are therefore getting help from the new superhero of our time, the Pep Hero, and together we intend to take the fight against ill health.
In order to encourage more people to use active transport, Generation Pep wants to urge and encourage more people to instead of driving our children by car, now Pep-drive them by cycling/walking together to preschool, school and activities.
Join the fight and become a Pep Hero too.

Today is Generation Pep's Pep Day and Prince Daniel's Race in Haga Park.
We will see if Estelle and Oscar run Prince Daniel's Race this year too (children born in 2011-2017 can run the Race and everyone gets a medal).

On Pep Day in Haga Park, you can find the joy of movement by visiting all the exhibitors and their try-on activities in the form of sports, dance, play and outdoor activities. The purpose of the day is to give children and young people the opportunity to find their joy of movement in various forms and to gain knowledge about healthy eating habits.

Daniel was interviewed at the live broadcast of TV4's Nyhetsmorgon/News morning by Anders Pihlblad, the host of "Kungahuset", TV4's annual program of the Royal Family. There was already a lot of people participating in the Pep Day. It's a wonderful weather in Haga Park, about 23 degrees and the sun is shining.
Daniel spoke lot about the work of Generation Pep, that they want that the children should move more and eat healthy food. He said that he moves too little, he is driven to different places, has long work meetings. He is a sporty person and on his free time he tries to move a lot. Estelle plays basketball and Oscar football, and as a family they try to be outdoors as much as possible.
Prince Daniel's message to all parents: "Go out with the children!"

This year we celebrate the second Day of Everyman's Rights with a walk in Uppsala together with Generation Pep, the Crown Princess Couple, the Swedish Association of Outdoor Organizations and some of its member organizations, Swedish Outdoor Association, representatives from Uppsala municipality and students from year 6 from schools in Uppsala municipality. The theme this year is about showing off the outdoor life close to urban areas and that it is not far or difficult to get out into nature.

Victoria and Daniel came today in the morning to a walk at the Day of the Right of the Public Access (Allemansrättens Dag) in Uppsala. The theme this year is about showing off the outdoor life close to urban areas and that it is not far or difficult to get out into nature.

Daniel was interviewed at TV4 News morning.
He said that the morning has been great, they have been walking at the City Park. They had some school grades with them, the children were introduced to various organizations who organize movement and life outdoors. The Swedish Right of the Public Access is great and it should be taken care of. There are so many positive things about being able to move outside in nature. If you go out into green areas, you move more, lower the stress levels in the body, that alone is a good argument. And Daniel thinks it is important that we learn to take care of nature, and if you become friends with your nature and like to be outside, you also take on greater responsibility. It is littered so much nowadays. Daniel says that when he was young, Keep Sweden Tidy was important. These children have free time from school and they have been moving at the City Park. It does not look so good. Only two out of ten move enough in Sweden, so there is a lot of work to do. The children should be outdoors more and we parents have a great responsibility in it, Daniel says. He says that he is a lot out in the nature and his children like it too.

During the morning, Victoria and Daniel walked in Uppsala together with children and young people as well as representatives from outdoor organizations and authorities. The walk began at the Swan pond in the center of Uppsala, where Victoria and Daniel were greeted by Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft and representatives from many organizations.
During the walk, stops were made at various places where the organizations had the opportunity to talk about their activities. Victoria and Daniel found out more about initiatives for swimming skills, whitewater paddling, geocaching, farm life close to the city and the Allemansrättskolan for children and young people.

The Youth Council this year consists of eight students from grade 9 from Farsta elementary school. It presented its analyzes and recommendations and discussed received project applications together with the Expert Council. Victoria and Daniel handed out diplomas to the participants in the Youth Council.
The purpose of the Expert Council and Youth Council is to ensure that the projects the Foundation supports effectively promote good health and counteract exclusion for children and young people in Sweden. The participants act as advisors and assess and prioritize between the applications. The members of the Councils work on a voluntary basis to support the Foundation.

Minister Jakob Forssmed, Save the Children, främja fys and the chairman of Lilla Edet's municipal board talked about effects, the current situation and those responsible. Minister Lotta Edholm and Anna-Karin Lindqvist from Luleå University of Technology spoke about community planning and schools. The Swedish Sports Confederation and Hej Främling talked about civil society and Synsam and Axfood about business.
Mårten Nylén (one of Pep Ambassadors) led a motion break.
Carolina Klüft told about Generation Pep, Michel and Patrick Tornéus about everyone having to take responsibility and Daniel summed up the day.

Before the event, Generation Pep also announced that there was a ban during the day: no bags were allowed into the auditorium. The police's crime prevention pilot project Rätt Kurva has been started in three municipalities with the aim of reducing new recruitment of children into criminal gangs.
The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation supports the initiative, among other things, with knowledge and networks to contribute to the project's success.
On October 24 the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel gave an audience for representatives from the National Police Operations Department (NOA) who told more about Rätt Kurva.

The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation annually supports organizations that promote inclusion and good health for children and young people in Sweden. Thirteen organizations are granted support from the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation 2023.
The organizations are supported by the foundation with funding, networking and skills development in the coming year. Support is granted after an extensive selection process in which the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation engages a Youth Council as well as an Expert Council that evaluates the applications and contributes knowledge and expertise.
During the 2023 application period, the foundation received an increased number of applications compared to the previous year. A total of 124 applications were received and all have been reviewed.

Organizations awarded grants in 2023:
4H
Project: Akalla and Riddersvik's 4H clubs offer children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to get involved in animal and nature-oriented activities.

A Healthy Generation
Project: Develop the Funkis family program for children with intellectual disabilities with families, as well as spread the Open Activities to more areas. En Frisk Generation offers children and parents physical activity, knowledge about food and a social community with the aim of breaking the trend of unequal health.

FC Rosengård
Project: Move by FCR - preventive activities and knowledge in physical, mental and social health for children in Rosengård, Malmö, in direct connection with the football training.

Förebildarna
Project: Generation F education, for and with young people. The aim is to strengthen young people's empowerment, understanding and confidence in how young people can have influence over their own everyday life and become involved in the local community.

Hello World!
Project: Establish Hello World After School program in two elementary schools in Malmö. Hello World After School is a knowledge-promoting leisure activity with the aim of increasing children and young people's interest in tech and STEM.

Kompis Sverige
Project: Give children and their parents the opportunity for new experiences and to meet other children and parents through various group activities in order to break and prevent social exclusion.

Läsfrämjarinstitutet
Project: Establishment of Läslandet Järva with reading literature and cultural strengthening efforts for children, parents and teachers.

Läxhjälpen
Project: Directed and result-focused homework assistance program in Borlänge for students who are at risk of not passing school, so that they reach upper secondary school with confidence for the future.

Motivationslyftet
Project: Create activities and an inspiration book for schools and guardians about the way back to school for homebound students.

Norrköping Tillsammans Bollklubb
Project: Create meaningful free time after school near the children's schools via "Bollisträningar" which is based on the joy of movement, cooperation, soccer games, camaraderie and ball games, as well as the establishment of the Norrköping Together competence center to support the start-up of Bollis in new municipalities.

Right By Me
Project: Improve the health of young girls by creating movement for those who are not part of organized sports and creating safe contexts, as well as producing support material for the girls' parents/siblings to make it easier for young people to participate in leisure activities.

Unga Hörselskadade Stockholm och Gotland
Project: Youth farm in Kristineberg with activities for hearing-impaired and deaf children and young people.

Youth 2023 Movement
Project: "Voice of the countryside" - reduce the feeling of exclusion among young people in rural areas by mobilizing commitment and empowering young people to actively participate in rural development by providing them with motivation, inspiration and concrete tools to dialogue with decision makers and drive influence in their local communities.

On a crisp winter's day, 70 people from different companies and organizations gathered at the Royal Palace to talk about the fantastic efforts they are making for the health of children and young people. All have in common that they run an initiative together with us at Generation Pep.
From activity glasses to tools for child health care, the initiatives that we run together with various actors in Sweden have a great breadth. Together, we work to create a difference for children and young people's conditions for an active and healthy life. Together, our initiatives have reached over 1.2 million people.
Since the start of Generation Pep in 2016, the number of organizations that have taken the active stance to work for our vision has gone from 36 organizations to over 600.
