Daniel delivered today The Golden Gavel Awards (Guldklubban) at Grand Hotel.
The Golden Gavel is an award for outstanding performance in the role of chair of a company board. The award was established in 2005 by Deloitte and the Swedish Academy of Directors. The aim of the award is to highlight and increase awareness of the crucial role of the chair in efficient, effective and business oriented board work.
The Golden Gavel is awarded in two categories each year, one for stock exchange listed companies and one for private companies.

Daniel delivered the Golden Gavel to Alf Göransson, chairman of Loomis AB in category of stock exchange listed company. And to Marie Berglund, chairman of Eurocon Consulting AB in the category of private companies.

On Thursday 6th December Daniel attends at Prince Daniel's Entrepreneurial Day at Gävle Castle, the residence of the County Governor of Gävleborg County.
So far Prince Daniel's Entrepreneurial Day has been organised in Stockholm, this is the first Day organised elsewhere in Sweden.

Prince Daniel at the inauguration of Sweden's first 5G network
On Wednesday, December 5, Sweden's first 5G network was inaugurated at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The first video call via 5G was made with Prince Daniel.
In the video call at the inauguration, Prince Daniel pointed out that it is extra fun that the 5G network is being launched at just KTH.
"At KTH, we hope to have future innovators who can take this further", said prince Daniel.
The new 5G network has so far only been available at KTH, where the university together with industry will be able to test various applications online over the next few years. The launch of the 5G network is a collaboration between the university, Telia and Ericsson.
The plan is to launch 5G throughout Sweden in 2020.

Telia's CEO Johan Dennelind, Ericsson's CEO Börje Ekholm and Professor Jan Gulliksen, Vice-Rector for Digitization at KTH, was the trio who got to push the button under what was called a historic day. And to further accentuate the blue-yellow feelinf, a little rojalistic touch was also added by letting Prince Daniel be the one who received the first video call via 5g.

Prince Daniel invited young entrepreneurs to Gävle Castle
On Thursday, Gävle Castle received visit by Prince Daniel and several major entrepreneurs to inspire young entrepreneurs in the county.
Together with the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, the County Administrative Board of Gävleborg arranged an entrepreneurial day at Gävle Castle to inspire around 40 young entrepreneurs from the county.
The Prince believes that it is important for young people to see role models talking about entrepreneurship, to see that there is also an opportunity.
- I strongly believe in the power of the good example, says prince Daniel.
Prince Daniel grew up in Ockelbo and later founded a training company before meeting Crown Princess Victoria.
Do you have any tips for young entrepreneurs who want to start a business?
- First of all, one must dare, to understand that it is not the business idea that is the most important but implementation and to have drive for it and not give up, he says.

Prince Daniel comes to Nacka.
His goal: to increase the physical activities of children and parents.
The first visit will take place next Wednesday 12th December, in Fisksätra Sport Hall.
Since last autumn, children from Fisksätraskolan and their families have had the opportunity to try out physical activities twice a week. Children and parents have also eaten together and learned more about what the body needs to feel good.
Behind the event is En Frisk Generation and Nacka municipality.
- The prince is the patron of En Frisk Generation and he follows their work, says Ulrika Näsholm from the court.

Healthier families had a royal visit
En Frisk Generation in Fisksätra allows children in grade two and their families try out physical activities and healthy food. On Wednesday, the group received a royal visit.
The group in Fisksätra started this fall and has met three times a week to have physical activities even have a meal. In a year, they learn more about food and the importance of everyday motions.
En Frisk Generation has Prince Daniel as patron. Therefore, the group received an additional participant at Wednesday's meeting, when the prince talked with both and children and parents, as well as local representatives.
- It's fun to meet these families. I visit this type of business quite regularly. If you can in any way contribute to and encourage physical activity, it is important, given the trends we see, said Prince Daniel at the visit.
- Here it feels good when there are whole families participating. Somebody had pain in the back today, but most people are with and are active and it also creates community.
The enthusiasm about the Prince's visit was great in the hall.
- It's great fun to run and today it was fun to meet Prince Daniel, said children Mashaal Khan and Hajra Hajder, students at Fiskarsätraskolan.
- We have come here all fall, trained, done activities and eaten together. The fact that Prince Daniel visited us means very much, said Amal Musleh, who together participates with son Labib Alkalaw.
- You play and meet new friends, and I feel safe here. I have started eating more salad and meat since I started, said Rafael Teklay.
Prince Daniel also commented on the difference between knowing what's useful and actually having a healthy lifestyle.
- Research shows unequivocally how many health effects it has when you move. The hard time is the implementation, making people do what we all know somewhere. This kind of year may well bring an interest and a desire to move and can probably create a new habit. It seems so, on the gang that was here today.

Here, Prince Daniel shows the way to increased mobility
Prince Daniel had a goal when he visited Fisksätra Sports Hall on Wednesday evening - to make children and parents move more.
Since last autumn, children from Fisksätra and their families have had the opportunity to try out physical activities twice a week. Children and parents have also eaten together and learned more about what the body needs to feel good.
Prince Daniel, the patron of En Frisk Generation, visited on Wednesday in the Fisksätra sports hall. About 50 children and adults had gathered to participate in the activities, different moments where children and adults were allowed to try out physical activities.
The Prince himself participated in one of the activities that was about to jump over a small obstacle.
Prince Daniel said:
- It's incredibly important this what En Frisk Generation does, to activate children and young people. They sit too much. Seven out of ten children and young people are moving too little and these are big and growing problems. These parents and children are physically activated and it is incredibly important.
Filmon Tekle, health coordinator from En Frisk Generation, welcomed the prince's visit:
- He seems to be a very kind and warm person. It was great fun that he came by, that he took time.

In place, the Prince received a presentation of Business Lab and their investment in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Business Lab provides support to students, alumni and teachers at the school who want to realise a business concept. Those who are admitted to Business Lab can take part in a program that provides support from people within law, finance, sales, strategy and technology. In addition, the newly started companies get offices at the lab for eight months, which gives them the opportunity to network with each other.
During the visit, Prince Daniel met twelve newly started companies that are currently supported by Business Lab.

Daniel visits today Atlas Copco in Nacka with Prince Daniel's Fellowship. Jenny Nordlöw, project manager of Prince Daniel's Fellowship, took part at the visit. Atlas Copco is a Swedish industrial company that was founded in 1873. It manufactures industrial tools and equipment.

Between 13 and 14 February, the prince will visit the cities of New Delhi and Guwahati to get information about the organization Pratham Sweden's project "Swedish Industry for Quality Education in India".
The trip will start in New Delhi where the prince will participate during a lunch at the residence and meet representatives from Swedish and Indian business.
The following day, the prince will visit the city of Guwahati. There he will, together with a delegation with representatives from different Swedish companies, travel around to schools and libraries. Daniel was today at Aula Medica at Karolinska Institutet, when professor and senior physician Mai-Lis Hellénius held her farewell lecture.
The lecture's theme was "Physical activity and food to prevent cardiovascular diseases - from theory to practice".

Mai-Lis Hellénius has been very involved in Generation Pep's work, and she was also a member of the Expert Council of the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation before Victoria and Daniel launched Generation Pep.

Today, Prince Daniel attended Professor Mai-Lis Hellénius's farewell lecture at the Karolinska Institute about how physical activity and food can prevent cardiovascular disease.
Professor Hellénius has worked for more than 30 years as a doctor, researcher and teacher in lifestyle medicine. She was among the first doctors in the world to write out physical activity on prescriptions as early as the mid-1980s.
In connection with Mai-Lis Hellénius's pension, she was, according to tradition at the Karolinska Institutet, holding an open farewell lecture. Prince Daniel was one of the 770 listeners who attended.

Daniel visits India on Wednesday and Thursday with Pratham Swedens project "Swedish Industry for Quality Education in India".

The purpose of the trip is to study a school project that will increase the quality of the education in the state of Assam.

Prince Daniel is on a quick visit in India. On Wednesday, he visited the Swedish Embassy in New Delhi and got a tour of the capital.
On Wednesday, Prince Daniel began a two-day visit to India.

The first day was spent in Indian capital New Delhi.

The Swedish business community's projects on education investments in India have now reached halfway. During the week, representatives of ten major Swedish companies have been in the country - together with Prince Daniel - to see how the development goes.
The project, under the slogan "Swedish Industry for Quality Education in India", was started by the financiers Marcus Wallenberg and Carl Bennet 2017 and is supposed to last for a three-year period. Ten Swedish major companies cooperate with the non-profit organization Pratham, which works to improve the education for Indian children.
The trip included among others the heads of sustainability of the ten companies, Carl Bennet - and Prince Daniel, who led the entire delegation.
- Pratham is an organization that makes concrete and important efforts to create a positive future for many children in India. As a representative of Sweden, it is with pride that I see how Swedish industry is involved in projects like this, writes Prince Daniel in a comment to Dagens Industri.
For the first time, representatives of all ten companies have visited the country for the first time this week. Among other things, the group has visited schools in the state of Assam in northeastern India to see with their own eyes which work and progress is being made.
Each company invests SEK 500,000 each year. During the three years that the project is going on, this means a total investment of SEK 15 million.
The entire project will also be evaluated by the School of Economics to see how large the effects will be.

On Wednesday, February 20, Prince Daniel visited Gothenburg together with Prince Daniel's Fellowships mentoring program for young entrepreneurs.
The Prince Daniels Fellowship aims, among other things, to support young entrepreneurs with ambitions to see their companies grow.
Together with 15 young entrepreneurs from the mentoring program, the Prince visited various activities.
During the morning, the group was received at Cellink where the founder Erik Gatenholm talked about how the business developed from one start-up company to a larger biotech company. Cellink develops 3D printers for human tissue.
Subsequently, they visited incubator Chalmers Ventures where a number of companies were presented. The Prince also participated in a panel discussion under the theme "Daring to fail and to take risk as an entrepreneur".
At lunchtime, the Prince and the delegation went to the West Sweden Chamber of Commerce, where President and CEO Johan Trouvé gave a presentation on the business community in Western Sweden. The Chamber of Commerce has 2,900 member companies.

When Prince Daniel visited Chalmers Ventures to take part in world-enhancing entrepreneurship, there were also failures on the agenda.
"Failure has no intrinsic value, but one must not be afraid to fail", said the prince.
Veras Gräsmatta was almost packed when Prince Daniel and his delegation settled down to listen to pitches from a handful of world-improving startup companies from Chalmers and partly to talk about daring failing.
After the four startup companies had told about their business successes, the focus was shifted to failures. In each film, founders of two start-up companies told about their mistakes, which ultimately proved to lead to success. And adversity became the starting point in the subsequent panel discussion between Prince Daniel, Linnea Lindau, Fredrik Hörstedt, fashion designer Malin Andrén and industrialist Carl Bennet about how to create better conditions for start-ups to grow. Among other things, they emphasized that self-confidence, courage and long-term thinking are important characteristics of an entrepreneur.
