Daniel sent today a digital greeting to graduation ceremonies for new police assistants across the country. The video has been filmed at Haga Palace.
Daniel said, among other things:
"Being a police officer is a job of trust. You do not only represent yourself, or your profession. But ultimately the values on which our Swedish legal society is based. It is a great and honorable task."

Daniel delivered prizes at Visa vägen -gala at Vasateatern this evening.
The prize is awarded by Samhall and acknowledges those who are at the forefront of people with disabilities and break their exclusion in the labor market.
The prize goes to the employers and enthusiasts who understand that it is more important to see what a person can do, instead of what they cannot. Simply to those who are wise enough to look for a person's abilities.

Today Daniel visited Medtechlabs at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm campus. Daniel received information about a new optical 3D microscopy that can be used to diagnose kidney disease. The new technology has been developed at Medtechlabs.
Daniel talked with employees who told about the research that is being done on optical 3D microscopy. With the help of technology, the diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases can become more efficient and accurate.
Medtechlabs is run by KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Karolinska Institutet and the Stockholm Region.

Daniel makes today a school visit to Botkyrka with Prince Daniel's Fellowship and its entrepreneurial programme. The lecture and round table discussions are held at Tumbascenen and Daniel has entrepreneurs Gunilla von Platen, Jessica Löfström and Adam Aljaraidah with him. Moderator of the lecture is Leo Razzak.

The court about the day:
Daniel visited Botkyrka together with inspirers from the Prince Daniel's Fellowship to talk about entrepreneurship with upper secondary school students and visit Subtopia.
The visit began with an inspirational lecture on Tumbascenen with Daniel and inspirers Gunilla von Platen, Jessica Löfström and Adam Aljaraidah from Prince Daniel's Fellowship. Students from the upper secondary schools Skyttbrink, Tullinge, Tumba and S:t Botvid had gathered to take part in the conversation. The conversation was led by moderator Leo Razzak.
After the lecture, students were invited to a small roundtable discussion with Daniel and the inspirers in the premises at Tumba Gymnasium.
During lunch at the company Bosphorus Daniel and the inspirers spoke with representatives from Botkyrka Municipality and Tillväxt Botkyrka as well as the companies Bosohorus, Miljonbemanning, Fogutek and DeLaval about the importance of entrepreneurship.
In the afternoon, Daniel and the inspirers visited Subtopia, where they were told about the business and got a tour of the premises. Subtopia is a cluster of companies and organizations that work with art and creative industries. They met also representatives from The Good Talents and Changers Hub, who told about their activities.

During a full day in Botkyrka, Daniel and his Fellowship met upper secondary school students and entrepreneurs. The morning focused on young entrepreneurship and more than four hundred young people got to meet Daniel and three super-entrepreneurs. Daniel then went on to meet representatives of local companies, the network for young entrepreneurs - The Good Talents, innovation house Changers Hub and Botkyrka municipality.
The initiator of the visit is Liv Lindman, program manager for the children and leisure program at Skyttbrinks gymnasium. She said this the morning before the visit: "My wish is that Prince Daniel and his super-entrepreneurs will inspire our professional students and the students who run UF companies. They need role models of flesh and blood who can tell about their own business journey and come up with good advice on entrepreneurship."

Daniel presented the Golden Gavel award at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.
The Golden Gavel award for outstanding performance as a chairman is awarded to a chairman who is a good example of the way in which the role should be performed.
There are two categories of the Golden Gavel award: one for stock exchange listed companies and one for private companies. The 2021 Golden Gavels were awarded to Eva Swartz Grimaldi, Apotea Holding, in the private companies category, and to Jacob Wallenberg, Investor, in the listed companies category.

The Police of Skärholmen posted yesterday to its Instagram about Daniel's visit at the patrol:
"On Thursday evening, we at LPO Skärholmen were visited by Prince Daniel who came with us during an evening and night shift!
After an interesting conversation about the police's activities and other parts that affect the community, we went out and showed off our local police area!
Prince Daniel was involved in an eventful passport where we area police carried out vehicle and person checks, basement searches in properties, foot patrols in downtown facilities, found a wanted person and confiscated a safety vest from a person who did not have a legitimate purpose to wear one.
We at LPO Skärholmen are happy and proud that we got to show our business and our local police area to Prince Daniel!

Prince Daniel has been appointed honorary doctor by Karolinska Institutet University because of his longstanding public health-related work. The Prince has often worked with KI since he's insistent that the research should take place in an evidence-based manner. KI writes in a statement that: "Prince Daniel has a strong and long-standing commitment to public health. Over the years, he has made a large number of efforts to increase awareness of the need to promote a healthier lifestyle among children and young people, reduce health gaps and support medical research and education."
Prince Daniel is planned to receive the honorary doctorate in a formal ceremony at Stockholm City Hall on 29 April if the pandemic situation allows it.

Karolinska Institutet (KI) has today decided to confer honorary doctorates upon HRH Prince Daniel, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan and Professor Shinhiro Takeda.
HRH Prince Daniel has had a long and active interest in public health, and over the years has worked extensively to raise awareness of the need to promote healthier lifestyles among children and teenagers, to reduce health disparities, and to support medical research and education.
Through this untiring health-related work, Prince Daniel has become a vital and visible driving force in this field, both at home and abroad. Since his focus has always been firmly fixed on evidence-based methods, his links with KI were forged early on. He is the founder and patron of En Frisk Generation (EFG – A Healthy Generation), which has been run in partnership with KI for the last ten years. EFG works to help families in deprived areas to adopt more active, healthy lifestyles, and is run in association with schools, municipalities, and local societies. The methods employed have been scientifically assayed in a controlled and published research study conducted by researchers at KI.
Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria are founders of Generation Pep, whose goal is to provide all children and teenagers better opportunities for more active and healthy lives, regardless of their background, circumstances, or abilities. Generation Pep has become a strong, credible, and unifying force in public health work in Sweden within just five years, and Prince Daniel is deeply and actively engaged in its activities. Generation Pep is currently running a large health-promotion project in which KI is an important knowledge partner, this collaboration being regulated in an agreement signed by KI and the Swedish Crown Princess Couple’s Foundation.
Prince Daniel trained as a youth recreation leader and has a background in personal training. He studied at KI between 2011–2013.

Daniel participated today in a meeting for mentees in the Prince Daniel's Fellowship's mentoring program. The meeting was held at the Royal Swedish Adacemy of Engineering Sciences (IVA).
The mentoring program gives selected young entrepreneurs an opportunity for a mentorship with a hand-picked mentor from Swedish and foreign business. For two years, each mentee and mentor couple will meet individually and a number of joint activities are also arranged.
Jarno Vanhatapio, inspirer for Prince Daniel's Fellowship's mentoring program, shared his entrepreneurial journey and gave his perspective on growth. The mentees could also share an ongoing challenge within the group in order to subsequently receive input and feedback from others.

Daniel had today a digital meeting with Ung Företagsamhet (Young Enterprise/Junior Achievement Sweden). Daniel is a member of the national board of Ung Företagsamhet.

Daniel met yesterday at the Royal Palace kidney researchers ahead of World Kidney Day (March 10).
 
Daniel will travel to USA with Prince Daniel's Fellowship's Entrepreneurial Trip.
They will be in San Francisco on March 13-15 and in Seattle on March 16-17.

The trip has been postponed due to the pandemic. Gunilla von Platen, one of the entrepreneurs/inspirers at Prince Daniel's Fellowship, spoke about the trip already in last August.

Information officer Daniel Urso from court press department tells to Svensk Damtidning in an email that is a trip that has been planned for a long time but has been postponed due to the pandemic. The Prince Daniel's Fellowship organizes recurring entrepreneurial trips so that new entrepreneurs together with established business leaders as mentors will be inspired by successful examples of entrepreneurship and innovation. Silicon Valley in the United States is an area with many leading examples of research and entrepreneurship.
After Silicon Valley, the journey goes to Seattle, where Daniel hopes to meet exciting business people.
Daniel Urso writes that the Seattle area has a prominent entrepreneurial culture and companies at the forefront of several future industries. Previous trips with the Prince Daniel Fellowship have been made to Singapore, Germany and Finland.
Each company to be visited on the trip is carefully selected with a number of criteria in mind. The trip has been planned by the steering group for Prince Daniel's Fellowship, which is part of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). Daniel is part of the steering group together with company leaders and knowledgeable employees at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. They have selected interesting companies, institutions and research centers in areas such as innovation economics, biotechnology, battery development, e-commerce and aeronautical research.

Today is the World Kidney Day.

On 24th February Daniel invited a number of researchers in kidney medicine and transplantation to the Royal Palace for a discussion.
World Kidney Day is a global campaign to raise awareness and knowledge about kidney disease, this year's theme is Bridge the gap to better kidney care.

A comment at court Facebook: "My little sister got a new kidney a few years ago at Huddinge hospital. Met Prince Daniel on one of all his visits to the kidney ward when I was visiting my sister. He was nice, friendly man, noticed he cared. So important that this is noticed."

Daniel started yesterday The Prince Daniel's Fellowship's Entrepreneurial Trip to USA. First they are three days in San Francisco and then two days in Seattle.

One of the inspirers at Prince Daniel's Fellowship and entrepreneurs at the trip, Gunilla von Platen (at The Apprentice Sweden in swedish TV right now, as "swedish Donald Trump") posted a photo with Daniel, I think it's from Sunday:
"Best start to our delegation's trip to San Francisco and Seattle. Got to listen to the incredibly interesting Sir Michael Moritz partner at Sequoia Capital and meet the most fantastic philanthropists Barbro and Bernhard Osher. What a role models are they?"

Barbro Osher (81) is the consul general of Sweden in San Francisco and a well-known philanthropist. She is the chairman of the board of the Bernard Osher Foundation, which supports higher education and the arts, and president of the Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, which supports Swedish-related cultural and educational projects in North America and Sweden.
Barbro Osher is also a close friend of the royal family and attended at Victoria and Daniel's wedding with her husband. When Victoria, Daniel and Estelle were at an official visit to Silicon Valley in 2015, Barbro Osher took Estelle to the zoo and made pancakes with her.

The Palace today shared some photos of Prince Daniel visiting Sila Nanotechnologies and the University of California San Francisco.

"In addition, several lectures and panel discussions were held with entrepreneurs, researchers and business leaders. The day ended at the Exploratorium Science Museum with a panel discussion with Nobel laureates Elizabeth Blackburn, Saul Perlmutter and Paul Milgrom.

Today, the program continued with panel discussions at Nasdaq in San Francisco on Nordic entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley, as well as visits to Salesforce, NVIDIA and Stanford University"
