Thanks for that bit of information, Mandy. I read it and wondered about KH saying that since I had never heard it. Then again, I am not all that knowledgeable about Martha Louise life.

A flawed article in many ways, ie. Leah is Märtha and Ari's oldest daughter?

Picture from her latest book
I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to put this picture in, but I'll take a chance
This is an illustration in Princess Märtha Louises latest book called Why Kings and Queens don't wear crowns. It is made by childrens books illustrator Sven Nyhus. And it is quite a humourous depiction of new royal family's arrival in Norway in 1905. And if they hadn't come to Norway, Princess Märtha Louise wouldn't be, so thus I put it here...:)
By the way, I found it at www.wikipedia.org

Princess of Norway to come to Grand Forks
Martha Louise will visit April 19 as part of a book tour
By Tu-Uyen Tran
Herald Staff Writer
Grand Forks resident Glenn Fontaine was rolling some lefse last year when the phone rang with a message that stunned him to silence.
A friend from church who was there asked what could be wrong. Nothing, he replied, the princess of Norway is coming to town.
Now news of royalty can be exciting for some people, but it was doubly so for Fontaine who happens to be president of the local chapter of the Sons of Norway. His ardor for all things Norwegian is such that he says that there's two places he'd like to visit in his lifetime and they are heaven and Norway not in that order, of course. By the way, he makes lefse regularly.
Princess M"rtha Louise is indeed paying a visit to Grand Forks April 19 as part of a 20-city U.S. book tour. Her Highness would be reading to children here from her first book "Why Kings and Queens Don't Wear Crowns," a true story about the childhood of her grandfather King Olav V.
"Any time a member of the Norwegian royal family visits, it creates great media attention," said Bruce Gjovig of the Nordic Initiative. "The Norwegian-American community has both a great fondness for Norway and Norwegian royal family. For many people, this is their one brush with royalty."

I have news that Märtha Louise will be in Minnesota to talk about her book, "Why Kings and Queens Don't Wear Crowns". I'll try to take pictures if I can go.

I don't follow Princess Martha Louise that closely but I decided to browse this thread today. Did she dye her hair blonde in the back?! And whatever she did, eek! I liked her with her short, brown hair; she looked very sweet and pretty.

I'm thinking of going down to San Diego on April 2nd when she promotes her book there. If I do, she's going to be the first royal I've seen in person and in the States in California. I think that's quite an accomplishment here in America.

Thanks Larzen. These pictures are great! Martha-Louise's coat is pretty wild.
Martha-Louise will be in San Diego promoting her book 'Why Kings and Queens Don't Wear Crowns'. She'll give a talk and then read from her book. During the day, guests will get to see traditional Norwegian folklore and at night there will be a special dinner. It costs $25 for the day events and $75 for the evening. Not bad! No pictures but an interesting article.

It's seems ML has been "promoting" he book for ages, there is no mention of the money earned coming from the event going to a charity besides herself.
and when will she start writing books as Mrs. Behn?:(

The proceedings from this book were not intended to go to charity - Märtha Louise renounced her HRH to be able to do it like this.
As her name isn't Mrs. Behn, it would be odd if she should start writing books as it.

The books are how she earns her living. As for her using her married name I guess she doesn't because her own name is much more well known and of course the title helps.

Very late but here are some pictures of Märtha during her last book tour, they are scanned from Royalty Magazine (with Madeleine on the cover)

Martha Louise in San Diego
Yesterday I attended Martha Louise's presentation at the Mingei Museum in San Diego's Balboa Park.
She told a few stories about growing up in Skaugum, then read very theatrically from her book.
She was very sweet when she signed my copy of the book -- said that she was "glad to meet [me] too," when I stated what a pleasure it was to meet her. I asked if her kids were with her in San Diego, and she told me that the children will be joining her in the States later.

There is an article in Aftenposten about the princess's book tour and again it is talking about the use of her title in promoting her book. Personally I am getting a bit sick of the media talking about it.
Princess off on new sales tour
Princess Martha Louise is hitting the road again, in an effort to drum up even more sales for the children's book she released last year.
The princess has been harshly criticized in Norway for commercially exploiting her royal title. No other Norwegian royal has ever so blatantly used his or her royal status to earn money, but Princess Martha Louise takes the critics in stride.

Thanks, Pink Tulip!
Thank you for the welcome! I've enjoyed reading these boards for ages.
I didn't have my digital camera, and the regular camera didn't have its flash, so my partner managed to take two photos with my cellphone. I'll try to post them tonight.
It was quite an expensive event -- $25 per person for adults, $10 for children, and did not include the cost of the book ($20). She spoke for under one hour.
She did give two additional presentations in San Diego (one yesterday, one today, actually) free of charge (except for the book, of course). I opted for the Sunday presentation, because I wanted to hear her speak about growing up royal.
She did tell a really cute childhood anecdote about getting in trouble for playing with Queen Elizabeth's fur coat.
