No, his real name is Jack. But the article states he was named after his great-grandfather whose real name was John but was nicknamed Jack.

Actually Jack's great-grandfather was created a baronet not a baron. A baronet is a commoner, not a peer. Kind of like a hereditary knighthood.

Wow, that's quite an age gap between Lady Julia Coke and her brother Hon. John Spencer Coke (most likely by different mothers as Thomas was about 22 when Julia was born and about 58 when John was born). Julia's son Mervyn was born when she was about 36 - in the same year as her younger brother.

In Jack's line two of the remaining three births are at about the age of 40, so that adds up; resulting in 'covering' another generation in Eugenie's family tree that varies between early/mid-20s to early/mid-thirties.

Okay, I just really paid attention to this! I am from Maryland, I had no idea Jack was descended from the Calvert family. How totally exciting.:flowers: Back in the day, the Calvert owned a lot of land in Maryland, some of which became the University of Maryland at College Park...my alma mater.

Yes but Eugenie herself is more closely related. Princess Mary's husband was the 6th Earl of Harewood.

Jack is the 8th generation counting from the 1st Earl. Eugenie is the 7th generation counting from the 2nd earl (his younger sister is a 'great(*X)grandmother of Jack); while princess Mary's husband (himself the 6th earl) was the 4th generation counting from the 2nd earl. So, if I am counting correctly, Eugenie is a third cousin trice removed of the 6th Earl of Harewood; and Jack is a 4th cousin trice removed. Moreover, Jack and Eugenie are 7th cousins themselves.

Edit: Just read on Jack's Wikipedia-page that they have a closer family relationship (but still distant relatives):
A half-third cousin twice-removed of Princess Eugenie through Thomas Coke, 2nd Earl of Leicester,Brooksbank's great-grandfather was Sir Jack Coke, a Gentleman Usher to King George VI and Extra Gentleman Usher to Queen Elizabeth II and his great-uncle was the 3rd Baron Hamilton of Dalzell.

Such happy news, welcome after the illness of both of their parents and their father's hospitalization.

Shares his middle name Stamp with his Uncle Jack (name of Jack and Thomas' paternal grandfather).
 
Stamp is unusual; I wonder if it's his mother's maiden name or another family surname. Congrats to them.
