Does anyone know what name Jorge Mario Bergoglio chose as his confirmation name when he was a teenager? Catholic teens are given the sacrament of confirmation and they pick a saint's name. I can't find anywhere what name he chose.

Has anyone seen any coverage of what this augers for this papacy? What do the tea leaves say about these appointments?
 
The BBC were covering the elevation of Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster to Cardinal & were commenting that he's seen as somewhat of a liberal.I don't really know much about him other than he's had a few fights with the British government.

Perhaps when the BBC uses the term 'liberal' they mean something other than what we do here in the U.S. or when describing the positions of various clergy. Orthodox vs heterdox always explains things better.

He doesn't sound like a 'liberal' (heterdox) when it comes to Church teaching based on the article.
