The new Cardinals will include :

Jose Cobo, Archbishop of Madrid
Monsignor Stephen Brislin, Archbishop of Cape Town
Monsignor Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla,Archbishop of Juba
Monsignor Sebastian Francis, bishop of Penang, Malaysia
Monsignor Luis Jose Rueda Aparicio, Archbishop of Bogota
Monsignor Grzegorz Rys, Archbishop of Lodz
 
Today, July 24, Pope Francis received Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization, former mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi , participants in the General Chapter of the Claretian Missionary Sisters of Mary Immaculate and Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda:

Pope Francis met with the President of Ghana at the Vatican
Roughly 13% of Ghana's population are Roman Catholic.


 
Pope Francis arrives in Lisbon, Portugal, to participate in the events of his fourth World Youth Day (WYD). One million young people are expected to attend, including more than 80,000 Spanish pilgrims.

Pope Francis will be received by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, at the National Palace of Bélem. Likewise, the Pope will hold a meeting with the authorities, civil society and the Diplomatic Corps at the Belém Cultural Center and a meeting with the Prime Minister at the Apostolic Nunciature. On the other hand, he will hold vespers with religious in the Jerónimos Monastery.


Pope Francis: "As a pilgrim of hope in Portugal, I pray and hope that this young-hearted country will continue to reach towards the horizons of fraternity. May Lisbon, city of encounter, inspire ways of facing together the great questions of Europe and the world."

Pope Francis has visited the Portuguese Catholic University in Lisbon. He then went to the touristy Cascais to meet a crowd of young people at the "Scholas Occurrentes".

On September 30th, Pope Francis swore in 21 new Cardinals at the Ceremony in St Peters Square.

The new Cardinals came from Argentina, South Africa, France, Switzerland ,Poland ,Spain ,Tanzania , Columbia ,USA, Hong Kong , South Sudan ,Malaysia ,Italy ,Portugal and Venezuela.

 
The Pope met with American actress and presenter, Whoopi Goldberg ,who was very moved by the experience.

At least Sabina didn't start crying this time and has gotten very emotional during the last few visits. Mrs Higgins can be seen at the end telling the Pope she prays for him!

Pope Francis talks and jokes with children at rally after brief health scare
The Vatican said he had been suffering from a cold that morning and had decided not to read a prepared speech to a delegation from the Conference of European Rabbis to save time so he could greet them individually.

"It happens that I am not well and because of this I prefer not to read the speech but give you a copy," he told the rabbis at that event, without going into further details.
