There are Sollidens Trädgårdsdagar (Solliden's Garden Days) at Solliden today and tomorrow.
In addition to being able to enjoy Solliden's fantastic palace park, you will meet several different companies and associations that offer lots of tips and inspiration for your garden. It is also possible to buy plants, pots, seeds etc. to take home. On the croquet floor you can also see our inspiration greenhouses from Classicum, decorated by the profiles Karl Fredrik Gustafsson, Karin Fransson, Lotta Sjöberg and the garden journalist Gunnel Carlson.
Gunnel will also give special walks in the park and be the moderator for our stage program. Solliden's gardener is on site. For the children, in addition to our treasure hunt and hobby horse jumping, there will also be pony riding.

What a summer it was! After almost 1.5 years without live music, we are more than happy that it was, after all, a fantastic concert summer this year. With restrictions, distances and limited audience, there were no less than 19 wonderful evenings together at Solliden Sessions.
Many, many thanks to all of you who visited us and helped us create a safe experience to remember!
Now the planning begins for next summer, when we will once again offer royal entertainment in an incredible environment on Solliden's stage. Hope to see you then!

"Today we visited the Royal Castle Solliden, the summer Residence of the Royal family, at Öland in the Baltic see. A remarkable huge area of Italian garden, English garden, Rose garden, etc etc. There are also several exhibitions ongoing whereof the famous glass artist @bertilvallien is really stunning. We are so proud that we were chosen as supplier of a big amount Italian hand made terracotta pots some years ago"

Susanne Demåne exhibits in the English Park
With saw, clay and brush, this year's artist in the English Park creates his works. Susanne Demåne is active in Johannishus in Blekinge, where she has a visitor garden with a unique sculpture park. She works in many different materials such as ceramics, wood, and enamel. For the exhibition here at Solliden, she creates sculptures from trees that have previously grown in the palace park.

Solliden Sessions 2022
The successful concept Solliden Sessions will return in 2022 to our small stage right next to Kaffetorpet. Here we offer songs, jazz, pop and hits with some of Sweden's foremost artists. The concerts will be smaller and more intimate. Dates and artists will be released soon.

The Themed Gardens Exhibition - 'Glazed 2.0'
For the eighth year in a row, we offer a Themed Gardens Exhibition on Gustaf V's old croquet course. The idea is to give the palace park a new dimension and a contemporary element, as well as give visitors inspiration and new ideas. This year's exhibition is once again about greenhouses, these lovely rooms in the garden that are not only a place for cultivation but also for recreation, creativity and socializing. Four new profiles inspire visitors by decorating greenhouses in their very own unique way, 2022 participants will be presented shortly.

After last year's success, Solliden Sessions is back again in the summer of 2022! With artists like Måns Zelmerlöw, Jill Johnson, Niklas Strömstedt and Arvingarna, this can only be good.
Solliden Sessions 2022 - a different concert concept with a stripped-down, genuine feel. Experience your favorite artists in the open air in the fantastic Swedish and Öland summer.
The stage is located just like last summer beside Solliden Palace's restaurant, Kaffetorpet. With its location at the gates of the palace park, right on the border of the nature reserve Slottsskogen, Kaffetorpet is almost a lyrical concert venue. Dating back to 1890, Kaffetorpet can now write new history with many of Sweden's most beloved artists as main characters.
At Solliden Sessions, music and audience contact are at the center. The outdoor scene is restrainedly sparse to offer a unique and exclusive experience. Here you sit as an audience in the middle of the music, in the middle of the community, in the middle of summer.
We want everyone to be able to have a royal time in the summer.

The King's investment in concerts outside Solliden Palace on Öland continues.
Next summer, Måns Zelmerlöw, Jill Johnson and The Boppers, among others, are expected to perform on the royal stage.
- It is exciting that the music investment is further developed, says operations manager Carolina Thaysen.
In recent years, the King through his private company Sollidens Slott AB has developed the hospitality industry around the palace. Nowadays, it's not just about tourists going for a walk in the palace park. This summer, they also made it possible for concert evenings in connection with Kaffetorpet.
Carolina Thaysen says that the concerts were corona-adapted in the smaller format, but very successful.
The royal family visited several of the concerts and the King himself had been strongly involved in the arrangement.
One of the King's favorites is Carola, who was one of this year's artists and whom the whole royal family met alongside the stage.
Is it the King's taste in music that is reflected in next year's artists?
Carolina Thaysen says that she has no real idea about that. But it is music that suits many and they also continue in the small format with 500-700 in the audience. It gives an intimate feeling that they think the artists also appreciate.
At SVT's program "The Year with the Royal Family" the viewers will see glimpses of Carola's concert. Queen Silvia interviewed, she talks about the family's positive response and impression of the Solliden concerts and the investment in artists.

The Themed Garden Exhibition - 'Inglasat 2.0'

Ernst Kirchsteiger
The well-known TV personality, interior designer and designer Ernst Kirchsteiger is a popular multi-artist who, among other things, works with TV, gives lectures, writes, designs, cooks and makes his own wines.
Malin Björkholm
Malin Björkholm is a florist and influencer living on Öland. She blogs about flowers and garden at Sköna Hem and inspires daily on instagram under the name @_garaget. She is an esteemed course leader and offers both workshops and online courses in flower tying.
Paul Svensson
TV chef and cookbook author Paul Svensson has a solid CV in gastronomy. Today he runs the restaurant at the Fotografiska museet and Paul Taylor Lanthandel, among others. He also has a great interest in cultivation and food will be a recurring theme in his greenhouse.
Kajsa Vildängen
Kajsa Vildängen is a gardener with a passion for the profession. She has started up garden operations and worked for the development of reputable public facilities such as Astrid Lindgren's Näs and Norrviken's gardens. She helps others fulfill their garden dreams.

In October 2021, the heating plant at Solliden Palace was changed. From a VETO Cont M 150 kW to a new VETO Cont 220 kW. (The "old" boiler plant was sold on to Jämtland.) It was a transport that required a skilled driver - with narrow passages, tight curves and obstacles along the way.

Lisa Nilsson first out of many artists at the king's palace Solliden
One of the most famous palaces, Solliden, is expanding its concert activities this summer. Many famous artists. Often members of the royal family in the audience.
- First out is Lisa Nilsson. Six weeks later, the final with Hasse Andersson awaits. So far, 14 artists have been booked, says Sollidens Palace's operations manager Carolina Thaysen.
She says that they had thought for a long time about how they could activate the stage in a good way. To broaden the business and offer the beautiful cultural environment to more people. It started last year, despite the pandemic with maximum limit of 500 in the audience, all seated. Now they can take in 800.
Lisa Nilsson was at Solliden already last year.
- Restrictions changed all the time. My guitarist Mattias Torell and I found the concept to perform just the two of us, so that it would go around even in front of a smaller audience. I have called it a musical "Summer" program. There are stories, humor and of course a lot of music.
Lisa and the royal family go "way back", as she says. Ever since Badrock 1989.
- When they come and look, they always want to meet me. We talk and joke with each other. Nowadays about children and grandchildren. And I have seen the royal children grow up and become more and more just in connection with the concerts there. Last summer I had a wonderful sight. It was a year after my mother's funeral. Then my stepfather, her great love, sat right in front of the royal couple. After all the misery, I enjoyed seeing that picture, how he sat and looked summery there. Then life felt a little carefree. It is an honor when the royal family shows up and it gilds the audience as well.

Genesis - English Park 2022
This year's artist in the English Park is Susanne Demåne who gives us the magical exhibition Genesis.
The exhibition consists of wood and steel sculptures that have been produced sustainably. Associated sound installations. Everyone is inspired by thoughts about origin and future. They are oiled, tarred and burnt. Some of the sculptures are made of wooden logs from Solliden!

Solliden Spirar - Season opening

On May 12, we open the gates for the season and welcome everyone to meet Solliden Palace park in wonderful spring attire. We can finally carry out our popular tractor trips again to our greenhouses, located in the private area and here you will meet our gardener. The greenhouses are full of our unique Mediterranean plants that have not yet come out in the park.
In the English Park we show the new unique art exhibition Genesis by Susanne Demåne.
In the newly renovated and expanded Gift Shop, you can buy plants from our greenhouses such as agave, basil and the new geranium Estelle. And unique design products, royal souvenirs, food crafts, garden products and much more.
Öland's Beekeepers' Association informs and sells Öland honey and on Saturday the Rose Society will also come with information, rose sales and a rose lottery.
At Kaffetorpet there is a Spirar menu and home-baked. For children, there is a treasure hunt, a music hut, a don't-touch-the-ground course and a hobby horse course.

Article about the summer at Solliden at Ölandsmagazinet's summer issue.

At the article it is told that during the winter, the entrance building has been rebuilt. It has become more spacious and the palace's shop has been given more space. The stage adjacent to the entrance has also been modernized, there are thirteen concerts this summer.
Pernilla Klintbert, marketing director at Solliden, tells that they want to surprise visitors and bring novelties every season. Queen Victoria who had Solliden built in the early 20th century was a modern queen. They continue in her spirit and believe that she would have liked the modernization that Solliden is undergoing now.

A nice blog post about a visit to Solliden recently at a food blogger's blog. She visited Solliden with her family and tells that she visits Solliden almost every summer. She tells at her blog that they saw the royal family, they drove past in a car and waved to the children.

On 27th July Sven Ingvars Band had a concert at Solliden Sessions.

They came and had a sound check and went to the hotel.
