In June 2021 the news came that the Crown Princess Couple is building a summer house on Fågelbrolandet on Värmdö. These news are from June and July 2021, I have posted about this earlier in this thread:
Victoria, Daniel and Family, General News Part 5_ January 2021 - - Page 11 - The Royal Forums

NVP (Nacka Värmdö Posten) wrote at its paywall article on 18th June 2021:
The Crown Princess couple is building a summer house on Värmdö
There they have bought property * "Happy to invest something of their own"

Svensk Damtidning wrote about NVP's article:
Victoria and Daniel have always loved nature and the sea and are no stranger to sea life after many summers spent on Öland.
Margareta Thorgren confirmed the purchase for NVP.
- They intend to build a private holiday home out there. The building permit has been approved and has gained legal force. Since it is a property that is jointly owned by the Crown Princess couple, many security aspects have been considered.

Expressen wrote:
Victoria and Daniel have bought the lot on Värmdö a year ago and the building permit has just been approved.
Margareta Thorgren said that the purchase is a private investment and the home being built will not be a public home. Thorgren confirms that the geographical location has had an impact on the decision to buy the plot. The proximity to Stockholm and their home in Haga is important. The family intends to use the villa during weekends and holidays.
The purchase doesn't mean that Öland will be abandoned in the summers. Victoria has spent all her life on the island all her life and will continue to do so.

Svensk Damtidning:
Victoria and Daniel have invested in a plot on Värmdö. The plot, which already contains properties, was acquired last year, but now they have received a building permit for the new house. Of course also the security issues must be considered when they are building the house.
Margareta Thorgren told NVP newspaper why the family chose to invest in Värmdö.
- The proximity to Stockholm and their home in Haga is important. The family intends to use the accommodation during weekends and holidays. They think that Värmdö is a very nice area, with proximity to nature and the archipelago, and are happy to invest in something of their own.
The real estate business has been managed completely privately and therefore the royal court doesn't have much insight into how the plans are progressing. Thorgren says that this is a private investment and the court doesn't have much information to share about it, but they have informed the local community.
Victoria and Daniel haven't abandoned Öland and Solliden completely, they will divide their time between the two islands.

Four new houses, a two and a half meter high wooden fence, wall, pool and walking distance to the Fågelbro golf course. This is what Victoria's and Daniel's new summer paradise on Värmdö will look like in detail.
The small gravel entrance that leads into the plot hardly rumors that there will in the near future walk a royal family. The excavators are already in full swing. The decision from Värmdö municipality states that a new main building will be built, and three additional buildings. As well as a pool. Everything is framed by a two and a half meter high wooden fence and a wall. On the 16 386 m2 plot, which also adds 7 359 m2 of water area, there are already four buildings. These will be demolished and replaced with new ones.
In the building permit: "All buildings have standing wood panels that are painted with iron vitriol so that they become silver gray, the windows are made of wood and should be treated so that they also get a gray tone. Roofs on the main building and ancillary building nr 1 are overgrown with plants in the form of sedum roofs. Ancillary building nr 3 and ancillary building nr 4 are covered with gray sheet metal. The terraces are made of gray wood and concrete respectively".
Victoria and Daniel will keep the pier, and parts of an older stone pier, and a boathouse. The shoreline hasn't been used for years and is covered with reeds.
Along the shore strip that frames Fågelbro's golf course, there are plots and luxury villas. Nice for Daniel that they will be within walking distance of Fågelbro golf course. The Golf club has also swimming pools, tennis courts and padel courts. The road to Victoria and Daniel's plot goes straight through the golf course.

Many celebrities live permanently or have summer houses on Värmdö, which is a short car or boat trip from Stockholm and has around 45,000 inhabitants. In the summer, the population expands to more than double. The municipality consists entirely of islands. Several of them, also Fågelbrolandet, can be reached by car.
Fågelbrolandet is an exclusive but rural island with Fågelbro Golf & Country Club, which in 2013 was bought by H&M billionaire Stefan Persson. Persson's basic idea with land purchases on Värmdö was to create an open and vibrant archipelago landscape by including nature conservation, cultural environmental protection, sports facilities, agriculture and the development of nature and culture trails, everything taking place in close collaboration with the WWF for Nature.
The Persson family has concentrated its ownership on Fågelbrolandet, where the family has a large summer residence. Stefan Persson bought Malma Gård in 2014, and the family owned already then several hundred hectares of land on Fågelbrolandet. The purpose of Persson's land purchase has always been to protect natural land from exploitation. Stefan Persson's nephew Nils Tham has a summer house on Fågelbrolandet with Félice Jankell.
Jacob Wallenberg owns Breivik's farm on Värmdö, the king's friend Olof Stenhammar owns large parts of the land on northern Värmdö, he lives on the Norrnäs farm estate and owns Siggesta manor, a popular excursion destination for families with children. Victoria and Daniel's friend Louise Lindh has a huge villa on Ingarö.

Besides that princess Christina and Tord Magnuson have a summer house on Ingarö on Värmdö, prince Gustaf Adolf built a sports cabin to princess Sibylla there. Princess Sibylla sold the cabin in 1960s.

In October Svensk Damtidning told that the construction of the summer house is now in full swing. The four houses that were on the plot have been demolished, but Victoria and Daniel will keep the pier and boathouse.

In Tranåstidningen yesterday:
The Tranås entrepreneur makes the crown princess's secret kitchen
First, Christer received an email he forgot to answer. Then the phone rang. The Crown Princess wanted to order a new kitchen.
- It feels very honorable but there is a lot of secrecy, I have even had to sign a paper, says Christer Wilzén.
Villa Fågelbro, which Victoria and Daniel are building, is located on Värmdö and is their private holiday home, which will now have both a kitchen and other furnishings made by Wilzéns Snickeri in Tranås.

This news is interesting. I didn't expect Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel to build a new home.

For security reasons, secrecy is great around Victoria and Daniel's new summer house on Värmdö outside Stockholm.
Construction is in full swing on the site where a series of signs with the text "Stop - protected object" prohibits photography.
Carpenter Christer Wilzén's company supplies kitchen and other furnishings to the royal residence. Wilzén tells that all questions about the construction go through Daniel, who is very dedicated. The kitchen drawers will be made of oak and the Crown Princess couple has ordered 50 closets from Wilzén's carpentry in Tranås.

Svensk Damtidning about Christer Wilzen's interview in Tranås Tidning.
On the plot there is both a new main building, three associated houses and space for a pool to be built.
- The house is four meter high and there are around 50 closets to be manufactured so there will be a lot. Everything has to work in terms of design and purely in terms of materials... after Christmas there will be trucks running up to Stockholm as we get ready. Prince Daniel actually called last week and thanked us for our work. I feel that he is very committed and all questions go through him, so the work goes a little slower than I am used to.
Yes, it has to do with security. Säpo is involved in everything and therefore it has been "hush hush" about the construction. But Christer tells that the kitchen will consist of "standard kitchen drawers of the type found in the exhibition at Wilzéns snickeri AB in Tranås", but in oak.
But more than that, unfortunately we don't get to know that at the moment, for security reasons.

Svensk Damtidning:
Broker Björn Ericsson from Svensk Fastighetsförmedling said that the area where Victoria and Daniel have bought is one of the most expensive on Värmdö. How much Victoria and Daniel paid for the sea plot is unknown. But ten years before they bought it, it was sold for SEK 18 million, according to housing site Booli. Today, the site values the Crown Princess Couple's property at SEK 29 million, but it was in its former condition, with an older holiday home from the 1930s.
It is now demolished and construction of new houses on the site is underway. There will be four new buildings on the 1.6 hectare site. When everything is ready, Victoria and Daniel's property is said to be worth upwards of SEK 50 million. One of the neighboring houses was sold a few years ago for SEK 64.5 million. It was one of the most expensive houses sold in Sweden during that year.
Some very wealthy people have their homes on Värmdö. Sweden's richest man, HM billionaire Stefan Persson has his summer residence at Fågelbrolandet, he is also one of the largest landowners in Värmdö municipality. On the other side of Brevikssundet lies the estate Brevik's farm, owned by Jacob Wallenberg.
Artist Susie Päivärinta has lived permanently at Fågelbro, near Victoria and Daniel's summer house, for many years now.
Susie believes that the Crown Princess family will thrive in the area where there are great opportunities for those who want to be active. The exclusive Fågelbro Golf & Country Club, owned by Stefan Persson, has also tennis courts and padel. The lively Stall Fågelbro is right next door for those interested in horses. In winter, there are also usually cross-country skiing tracks on the golf course.
Victoria and Daniel like golf and being active, so Susie thinks it will be a great place for them. She thinks it's very cozy there, but it gets a little too crowded in the summer. Victoria and Daniel have a sea plot so they can choose whether they want to be social or not. Their house is very nice, Susie usually passes by where they are building when she is out with her dog.
Fågelbro also has a lot of unspoiled nature again thanks to Stefan Persson. He has bought up land to prevent further exploitation. Susie thinks Persson has done very well for Fågelbrolandet. It was great that he came in and bought up and saves land. The archipelago can never be replaced. It is very important to leave those breathing holes, also for animals and the environment. So it's very good that he lets it be, there are a lot of nice areas, Susie says.
What do the neighbors think of the Crown Princess family moving in?
- I think they are very nice, we have played for the royal family a lot of times. It's funny, but I've never been particularly interested in kings and princesses, they're people. But many others think it's like this "ooooh". But that's good, they seem very humble and nice and it's always fun to have nice people in the area, says Susie.

We may assume Queen Victoria and Prince Daniel will live at Drottningholm and use the Royal Palace Stockholm as official residence. That is why I do not understand the purchase of this plot in Fågelbro and the construction of new houses. It is pretty close to where they already are living. Maybe it must be seen as an investment.

It may very well take about 10-20 years before Victoria will be the Queen and then she and Daniel will probably live at Drottningholm Palace. However, the King once said that he thinks Victoria could still live at Haga Palace when she is the Queen.
This new summer house is less than an hour drive from Haga Palace by car and will be used also in the winter. It takes over five hours to their summer house in Solliden by car, and they usually go by plane. The flight and car trips from Haga Palace to the airport in Stockholm and from Kalmar airport to Solliden take well over two hours. And then you have to always plan your trip according to the flights. Also, when Estelle inherits Solliden, this private summer house on Fågelbrolandet will be surely inherited by Oscar.
Many of Victoria and Daniel's friends have their summer houses on Värmdö: Karl-Johan and Leonie Persson, Andrea Brodin and Cedric Notz, Louise and Johan Lind and some more.
And the King and Queen spent their weekends and a lot of their free time at Stenhammar Castle, not at their home in Drottningholm Palace.

Svensk Damtidning writes, that according to their information, the crown princess family has now progressed so far in their house construction that they moved into their new holiday home this summer.
During the summer and holidays, they will spend time both on Värmdö and Öland. The advantage of Fågelbro is also that it is located in the Stockholm region and will be used in the winter.

Artist Susie Päivärinta, who lives permanently on Fågelbrolandet on Värmdö, was asked by the press at Kvik's 40th anniversary party on Saturday 23rd September, about her "spectacular neighbors" = Victoria and Daniel.
Susie told that she passed by Victoria and Daniel's summer house then on Saturday, they have built a giant fence now, it almost looks like an old knight's castle.
So you don't see them that often?
- No, but they have it so very nice. They live on a great seaside property that has been scouted. It's almost like an avenue in and then their plot it self comes and spreads out towards the water. So it's very good because there's like a bit of forest and rock before, so automatically it's very good, I think, because it won't be like that that people stand and stare, so it's perfect for them.

Mitt i Värmdö about Victoria and Daniel's summer house:
They are expected to move into the house this summer. Everyone Mitt i Värmdö talks to thinks that Victoria and Daniel chose the right place to live. Lena says that it will be nice. It's quiet and undisturbed here, and they probably don't make too much of a fuss and if anyone were to ask, people won't tell where they live. Husband Anders thinks it might cause property prices to rise. People also say that Victoria and Daniel should avoid the queues on Friday afternoons and weekends, it's best to come by boat then.
The entire property is considered a protected object, which means that unauthorized persons don't have access:
The family was given OK to move into the main house in December after a final inspection. A smaller building, called the "lake cabin", remains to be completed.
Mitt i Värmdö asked to interview Victoria and Daniel and visit the summer house. The court's press department's email: "Unfortunately, I have to announce that we decline participation as the crown princess couple's summer house on Värmdö is completely private."
Victoria and Daniel have paid the houses with their own money.

Sounds very much like a weekend home… Last year in June it was claimed -by the same source- that they had already moved in and now they only got their permit in December and will move in this summer… Whatever the case, I hope they’ll enjoy this place in the years to come.

Its in a beautiful setting and will make a lovely holiday home!

I’m sure it will be a much welcomed weekend and short holiday home for them…

It’s a long way to Öland from Stockholm and not a distance you want to travel if you only have a short time off… So i’m sure a weekend home nearer to Haga Palace will be good for them
