I am looking at the heels HM is wearing!! She just looks fabulous from head to toe...

It's wonderful that this film was chosen for the Royal Film Performance.

She looks stunning!!! HM looks younger every year, and she has fantastic taste in clothing. In fact, it has gotten so much better as the years have gone by. Her sense of style for a lady of her age is simply wonderful. I love the shawl with her gown. The detail of the blue gown is modern, but still conservative enough fit for HM. Beatrice and Eugenie could take lessons from her on how to dress regally and stylishly.

I couldn't agree more, Lady Marmalade! Well said... :)

HM is stunning. Very elegant. :flowers:

(Btw, also the blond young woman pictured in the Mail article has a nice dress ;) ).

Lady Marmalade, HM has all the things and attributes you have listed. But HM has something more which is much harder to achieve: a sense of duty and a love for her people.

I think Her Maj looked super at the Narnia film! She may even have been in natural hair, not wig. I loved the shawl--at her age she can do as she likes. She looked lively and happy for a change too!

Even though it was snowing, perhaps she left the furs at home to avoid criticism during difficult economic times.

Can we have a source for the wig statement?

Wig??? I've never known HM wear a wig - she has lovely hair!

Thank you for that, Gill... I couldn't believe that statement either!

I remember reading that either the Queen or the Queen Mother used to wear a small wig at times with a tiara. Now that the Queen is elderly, perhaps she does wear a "wiglet" with tiaras.

The Queen mother had very fine, thin hair and did at times need some "help" to anchor her tiara. This does not apply to the current Queen, who has beautiful hair for a lady of her age.

Nothing like Hot pink during the holidays to cheer one up!

Beautiful pictures! I can't stop wondering what the Queen thinks about the riots...

Ah, if only once I could have a look into the skyblue eyes of Queen Elisabeth II.

BREAKING NEWS: Queen in Richmond (From This Is Local London)

Queen in Richmond
2:11pm Wednesday 15th December 2010

The Queen attended a private engagement in Richmond today, Clarence House* has confirmed.
A spokeswoman confirmed the Queen had been in the borough but would not reveal the location of her visit because it was a private engagement.

Eagle-eyed passersby spotted the Queen's motorcade passing through Twickenham at lunchtime. The royal Jaguar was surrounded by police motorbike escorts and unmarked security cars when it passed through London Road, Twickenham, at about 12.30pm.

* they probably mean Buckingham Palace
