To do that, you would have to travel to Shanghai !
The video is a snapshot of some incredible visuals in the Monaco Pavilion.....

I would like to do that. I liked the scenes of the galleys fighting too. I hear alot of people talk about how great a movie could be made about the Grimaldis and all their drama in recent years but, as I tell them, you could make a good action-adventure movie about alot of the older members of the family. Long before there was Monte Carlo Casino the Grimaldis were most known for being soldiers and fighting sailors. I think we might also see a glimpse of the future here with CGI advances enabling more people to make films with greater freedom.

According to CCTV, by only about the second day the Shanghai expo had already attracted over 300,000 visitors. They also set up a mini-pavillion in the Principality of Liechtenstein so visitors there could get a taste of what is going on in the PRC.

Over 6,000 people visited Monaco pavilion within just couple days? I think it is pretty impressive. Especially if we consider that Monaco is so small country.
I must say I really like Albert's Foundation website, they have beautiful pictures. Whoever does that website does a good job.

The Monegasque yachtswoman Alexia Barrier left Monaco in January, and she arrived on May 6th in New York with her sailing vessel "4myplanet". Prince Albert is supporting her through his Foundation in this single-handed effort, and when she reached NY, the Monegasque consul at NY organised a reception.

Alexia has had some problems in linking up by webcam with Monegasque schoolchildren.

She is expected in early June, via the Azores and Gibraltar.

Hi ! I am much more concerned about environmental issues than aristocracy but I found this topic intesresting. It is good to see you are also concerned about such issues, especially about PA's Foundation ! I just found that they have somekind of an official facebook page Welcome to Facebook
Just thought you could be interested if you are a FB user !

Welcome, Vaulabella...

The people on this Forum have a great interest in environmental issues.

You're from PACA - are the Niçois similarly interested, e.g. in the Mediterranean Sea?

hi renata !

People from south east of France are always concerned about the Mediterranean Sea, especially about pollution. Sometimes the huge number of tourists doesn't help to have a clean blue sea !

I can understand that. Have you had any contacts with the PA2 Foundation yet?

Not yet. But I went to see the Albatros exposition ! Maybe people working for the Foundation were present :flowers:

yes I know this is exactly were my name comes from =) ! I found this article interesting and I was searching for a special name for this forum

Well, it's indeed a special name - clever of you to think of it!

It's nice to see that PA and his foundation cares about vultures. They have been unjustly regarded as ugly and portrayed as ... well, vultures.

A special day at the Monaco Pavilion at Shanghai:

Yesterday, a special visitor was brought to the Monaco Pavilion, in the shape of Xing Yi, a young girl of 18, who has an unusual illness. Her "nickname" is "fille de verre" - girl of glass. apparently her bones break like glass, and she's had many operations.

Her chauffeur has organised for her a secret journey to the Shanghai Expo, and she said she liked the Monaco Pavilion best because everything possible was done for her to make this special visit possible.

The Pavilion boasts an "easy access" gate; people with special needs don't have to queue for hours...

The PAII Foundation was established three years ago, and in that time it has received 1011 requests for the funding of projects via the foundation's website.

On Saturday, October 10th, 2009 was the "Second Edition" of prizegivings.

The next Board of directors' meeting meets again on October 8th, 2010.

I assume the "Third Edition" will be in October 2010.....

The "Third Edition" was indeed in October, when PA visited the Monaco Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo.
It's the first time that the awards were presented outside of Monaco.

This April, PA has "put his money where his mouth is", by installing a photovoltaic solar power unit at the headquarters of the Prince Albert II Foundation, the Villa Girasole. The installation encompasses sixty square metres.

The villa houses 25 office staff.

The Partnership between Johnson Controls and FPA2 took one step further on May 11th, 2011, when the Foundation and Johnson Controls jointly inaugurated and opened the Euro-Mediterranean Forum 2011 about "Energy Efficiency"; this includes efficiency in industry, buildings, and towns/cities in Europe and the Mediterranean basin.

Amongst the invited was Alain Hubert who collaborated with PA at the North Pole.

The 19th "Nuit du Pérou" (or, correctly, "Nuit de l'Amérique Latine") netted 82 000 euros for Amazonian rainforests, via Sotheby's Monaco.

In the presence of PA, the cheque was presented by Michel Pastor to Bernard Fautrier (husband of Cathérine) on behalf of the PA2 Foundation.

Some of the money was passed on to the Field Museum of Natural History.

Matéo Mornar - a famous sculptor who lives in Nice - has donated one of his sculptures for the benefit of the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco.

The work - named Pegasus (Pégase) - is at present situated in the avenue des Spélugues.

Later, the two tonne item is moved to the Café de Paris.

In July it moves - appropriately - to the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo.
