I love this dress. It just looks lovely on her. Kind of has a 1950s look at it.

I agree. The dress would suit well for a younger woman.

Not at all a good look. The dress is too fussy for her age and the addition of a whacking great pair of high cream espadrilles is the final nail in the coffin. She may as well be wearing combat boots instead of evening shoes.

Every time she wears something glaringly off I assume her dresser was not available and she just grabbed the first dress she laid hand on and a pair of shoes from her wardrobe.

In a Summer of extremes Queen Letizia has turned to floaty maxi-dresses for a cool, yet elegantly casual look, and with her hair in a high ponytail to keep it from sticking to her shoulders and back, it's a practical move but the use of espadrilles makes any eveningwear look clunky and inelegant. Sort of like wering army boots to the beach.

Exactly. All her summer dresses i can recall were very pretty. But the espadrilles... especially the gold ones..ruined everything. A nice elegant pair of flat sandals would be much prettier.
Look at what Victoria Federica wore. A pair of flat Hermes Oran model. Much nice.
And there are not the 4 cm given by the espadrilles do important
