That emerald is a delicious colour! I do hope we get to see this worn again soon. It will make a nice change amongst HMs few other emerald brooches.

That emerald brooch is GORGEOUS. I so love the deco pieces.

I thought it looked like a hand with extra fingers. IMO not one of her best.

I think this one is a bit of a "Bovril" brooch - you either love it or hate it! Still, there are plenty of others for us all to love to our own taste!

It is a unique design, maybe not to everyone's tastes, but the various diamond cuts are really magnificent as well as that emerald.

I do love it for the beautiful green color and all the different diamond cuts, but don't love it as much for it's actual shape.

Well, something more recognizable that we've seen HM wear before; her mother's beautiful Shell Brooch with the pearl nestled in its center. She wore it at the final day of Ascot. I just love those waterfall of diamonds; imagine how they must shimmer in day and evening light.

Now if she pinned the brooch on her right shoulder, it would have been displayed better against the white fabric, unless she wanted to give the illusion that the brooch had leaves.

I believe it's the Greater Nizam rose, which hasn't been seen for some time. Nice to have it out again and it looks lovely on that pretty summer dress.
It was third time this year

Hi Tangoskater,
I am new to the blog and I am also updating by Brooch list. I too have no details of HM's brooch on her arrival in Abu Dhabi in 2010. Was Salma (or someone else) able to help in this regard? If so would you mind sharing your findings. Thanks in advance.
Bryce

The pinks are called padparadsha sapphires. Lovely

Learn something new every day. Thanks. Lovely indeed.

Well, if you like silver then it's a nice brooch. I prefer her sparkly, gem-encrusted brooches personally because I'm that kind of girl who likes bling.:D

I prefer the brooch from close up photo,it seems to have celtic designs on it that remind me of the Newgrange site, which may have been its inspiration.

The Queen received another brooch for her collection from the Prime Minister of New Zealand. It is a blue pearl brooch from a Christchurch company, so something a bit different - there is a picture in the following article:

Can anyone find a picture of the Quuen at church yesterday? It would be lovely if she had worn her new brooch!
