Indeed, Aiko seems really serious! but I guess she may feel a little intimidated by all the cameras and pictures and the attention focused on her and her parents. She is a child, and may also be a shy one...

I fully agree with you. Princess Masako was truly regal in her formal attire. I love the very effortlessly elegant way Japanese royal ladies hold a fan, gloves or a clutch in their hands.

Wow...they certainly do look very elegant and regal. As always, it is nice to see them together for a function. Let's keep our fingers crossed for more appearances in the future as Masako continues her recovery.

Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito , Crown Princess Masako and their daughter Princess Aiko arrive at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, 01 December 2009, to meet with Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. Princess Aiko had her eight birthday on 01 December. She is a second grader at the Gakushuin elementary school.
