You are not the only one of this opinion :D

From our blog:
I have never had any doubt!!! She's a wonderful Princess, and she will be a wonderful Queen, too!

I've always felt that among all the CPss currently, she's the most beautiful, graceful, humble and elegant! You can feel her geniune warm and 'down to earth' presence. Other CPss may be equally beautiful in style or looks but they lack her special geniune grace. Natually, she would have come up tops on this survey! Congrats to her!!

Congratulations to Mathilde! She really deserves it! She always does her work very well. I think she is very intelligent & beautiful.
How proud Belgians must be of their Princess.

Princess Mathilde of Belgium is welcomed by Professor Sokal
as she visits the pediatric research institute of the UCL
(Clinique Universitaire de Saint-Luc), 23 April 2009 in Brussels.

What a great choice of dress colours Mathilde made for that
visit in that medical white/grey hospital atmosphere..

Lovely pics iceflower! thanks!

I totally agree, red is such a happy colour, it catches the eye immediately, and the colour really suits her.

She looks radiant and cheerful! When she was wearing the white gown, was she taking part in a hands-on experiment, or was she in a germ-free room?

A very special topic, it's good to see that Prince Philippe supports
such a project!

Mathilde voted most popular European princess by PdV

Princess Mathilde was voted the most popular and best future Queen-consort in Europe by a poll of the French royalty magazine Point de Vue. She received 47,8% of the votes, and lead the poll with a large margin. Second in the poll was the Dutch Princess Máxima (21,1%), closely followed by Letizia, the Princess of Asturias (17,8%). Only 10% of the votes went to Mary and Mette-Marit of Norway got less than 3%. According to PdV, Princess Mathilde won because of her softness, charm, and competences.

This blog entry is music to my ears. It is really really great to learn that Crown Princess Mathilde has been acknowledged as Crown Princess.

Did Mathilde speak at this event, or was she just there as an observer? Did she have a role in deciding the prize-winners?

Maybe she presented the award? I don't think she had anything to do with deciding who won, these are academic awards, for clinical postdoctoral research done at or in cooperation with a Flemish university.

Princess Mathilde of Belgium attends the 'Development Cooperation
Assises', a forum of Belgian development cooperation policy makers
and actors, NGO's, parlementarians and academics, Tuesday 05 May
2009 in Brussels.
The theme of this year's second assises is 'The impact of the financial
and economic crisis on low-income African countries'.

The princess talked during the meeting. She said that the current economic crisis should not stop the rich countries from helping the poor South. She warned for an escalation of famine in Africa.

There are two captions of her speech (in Dutch) in this video.

A very sad topic, but Mathilde is the right person to be involved with this issue. She truly cares about children, and has the ability to speak out and make a difference.

I totally agree with you about that. And Mathilde in her role as a
princess in the spotlight helps to put the spotlight on special
themes like this that normally have a shadowy existence...

Here are some additional pics of the meeting today:
