Well, I've just started to watch this programme and seen about 20 minutes of it and am very impressed. It may interest some people to know of the Queen's relationship with royalty overseas.....particularly the Swedish Royal Family: in her sitting room at Buckingham Palace, not only does she have a wedding photo of King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia, next to it is a photo of Prince Bertil and Princess Lilian!

I also spotted 2 framed pictures of Queen Margrethe and Crown Prince Frederik behind the Queen, near the fireplace, whilst she was holding audience with David Cameron.

Here it is on YouTube.
Watch it or download it; the video could disappear at any time.

I watched this yesterday and really enjoyed the programme. I particularly liked the sound bites and interviews from a wide range of people which gave the programme a more balanced feel. The footage inside the Queen's sitting room at Balmoral made me smile with its homely comforts and basic convector heater in the fireplace. I am just old enough to remember the original and slightly controversial Royal Family documentary series and this is definitely one of the best royal documentaries since then - interesting that neither were made by the BBC.

I was surprised that James Bond (Daniel Craig) didn't bow his head to the Queen during the palace skit.

More from an article at ABC news:

"Only two of her beloved corgis were used during the skit, 13-year-old Monty and 9-year-old Holly. The queen’s real page who has been by her side for the past 20 years was filmed escorting Daniel Craig to her apartment and then through the palace." (I was wondering if that man was "real" or an actor.)

Regarding her dress, it "had to be a color that did not represent any of the participating Olympic nations. The result was a peach dress with a few embellishes including some lace detailing and beads with a pleated skirt."
