Göran Alm, Ph.D., art historian and the former Head of Bernadotte Library to Gods och Gårdar magazine about the royal jewellery:

What you can tell about the sapphire jewelry?
- They are made in Paris, probably ordered from Nitôt. Duchess of Leuchtenberg left the sapphires in her will to her daughter, Swedish queen Josefina. Josefina used them, but the sapphires in the diadem were able to be picked up and instead you could have big drop-shaped pearls, and she has been portrayed with them. The diadem is in eleven parts and can be shaped after the wearer's head and hairstyle.
What can you tell of Queen Sofia's diadem?
- It is a diadem shrouded in some mystery. There was a little jewellery comb, a low diadem, in Karl Johan's jewellery fideikommiss. I think that they picked apart the comb and used the stones to create a new brilliant diadem, or build a new on it. In a protocol from the late 19th century it is said that it is so ugly that it probably is made in Berlin, that is why it was for a long time called the Berlin Diadem. It came to in connection when the future Oscar II married Sofia of Nassau. Unlike the Leuchtenberg jewellery, it is not included in a parure or is linked to other jewelry.
What caused your interest in the royal jewels?
- Partly, I am generally interested, partly on the occasion of arranging the first public exhibition of the Queen's jewellery in 1976, and I was commissioned to produce history to them.

Was the broche a personal gift from Princess Lilian to Princess Victoria somewhere in 2003?

Or was it not a broche belonging to Princess Lilian but to the Bernadotte Foundation?

The swedish press has written that the brooch was a gift from Lilian and Bertil to Victoria. Bertil died in 1997. So it seems that the brooch was a gift from Lilian to Victoria, since Lilian wore it in 2002. I haven't seen photos of any other Bernadotte woman wearing this brooch, but I am always searching.

What pendant princess Ingrid has on this photo?

Doesn't look like the same to me.

I didn't mean that Ingrid's pendant would be Lilian's brooch. I'm just curious what pendant Ingrid has. I have seen this photo so many times and just now when I saw a bigger version, I noticed that Ingrid has a pendant.

Looks like a beautiful pendant. I try to remember if I've seen anything like it on one of her daughters.

Baroness Marianne de Geer, the daughter of baron Louis de Geer af Leufsta and Baroness Martha Cederström, married count Carl Bernadotte af Wisborg, the son of prince Oscar Bernadotte and Ebba Munck in 1915. They divorced in 1935, and Marianne remarried with Marcus Wallenberg, a member of the famous Wallenberg family.
Marianne had this tiara (which she wore already when she was married with Carl Bernadotte), photo of Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg in 1963:

Count Lennart Bernadotte wasd the son of a Russian Great Duchess and a Swedish prince. Did he inherit Russian jewellery and could he keep them when he was stripped of his rank and titles when he married a commoner?

Lennart's mother, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna the younger did manage to salvage parts of her jewellery collection when she fled Russia during the revolution but she sold most of it. For instance the Emerald kokoshnik that she'd inherited from her aunt Grand Duchess Ella was sold to King Alexander of Yugoslavia. Maria died basically penniless in the 50s so I doubt there was much of an inheritance for her son. Neither his wives nor his daughters have worn any significant jewels and his daughter Bettina usually wears a tiny tiara made out of some cufflinks that belonged to Gustav V when she's present at tiara events in Sweden.

Queen Desideria's Malachite and Gold Parure was made by Parisian jeweler Simon Petiteau in the 1820s in the French Empire style. The parure consists of a five cameo tiara and an eight cameo necklace.
Artemisia's Royal Jewels: Swedish Royal Jewels: Queen Desideria’s Malachite Parure
It's such a beautiful and unusual piece that I'm sure Queen Silvia or the Crown Princess Victoria would wear really well. It would look great with their dark colouring.
Also were did Artemisia go? Her blog on royal jewels is one of the best out there.

:previous:The article mentioned that Queen Desideria's Malachite and Gold Parure was donated to the Nordic Museum. If that is the case, how would Queen Silvia be able to wear any of the jewels? Would she have to purchase the entire parure?

When was the last time we saw the cameo tiara on Silvia.?

At the state visit to Austria in 2007, what I recall.

As far as i remember she wore it another time for an incoming State Visit but don't remember which one.
