Even though it was a surprise, she still would have had time to change. According to this article she exercised the "privilege du blanc" even though she is not a Queen. That's pretty offensive. She has worn black in the past (apparently), so why not now? Anyway, the article could be wrong since it mentions Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte as one of the monarchs who can wear white, and she is no longer with us.BeatrixFan said:It seems I have to apologise to Mrs B. It was just unfortunate that she happened to be wearing white on that day. I loathe the woman but she was in the right on this occassion.
