To mark the International Childhood Cancer Day and in support of the childhood cancer foundation Flavien the Princely Palace was illuminated in orange yesterday, February 15:

It's a beautiful place indeed, Monaco is the real magical kingdom where every corner seems to be filled with an activity to do.
 
The archdiocese of Monaco held a Solemn Procession and Mass to mark the Great Jubilee Year of 2025 which started outside the Princes Palace of Monaco and made its way to the cathedral where Mass was celebrated.
 
The Princely Palace is illuminated in green this evening to celebrate St. Patrick's Day:

A tribute to the historic ties between the Princely Family and Ireland, and a symbol of friendship between our nations


 
It really stood out against the backdrop of Monaco to mark St. Patrick's Day!
 
From April 2 on parts of the Princely Palace - The State Apartments - are open for visitors again:

Makes me wonder if the palace itself has areas that could be covering long lost treasures from the times of it's construction. Like the viceregal palace in Mexico City's Zocalo Plaza, built over the Aztec temple ruins with corridors under the structure itself.

The Princely Palace was looted during the French Revolution and French occupation
The engraving below dates from 1732 ,the palace was in a terrible state when Honoré IV was restored and the furnishings and art work looted or sold off by the French.

Wow, that means the Grimaldis have spent all that time restoring the art stolen from them with new pieces. Again, that makes me wonder if they had records that mention works they had before the looting, like original paintings by big names from the Renaissance. The mystery remains!

To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Prince's Palace was illuminated in orange last night.
A symbol of dynamism and optimism, this color was chosen by the United Nations to represent a future free from violence against women and girls.
