The King, Queen, Victoria and Daniel held today a digital meeting with the Nobel Foundation's newly appointed executive director Vidar Helgesen. The foundation's recently resigned executive director Lars Heikensten was also present at the meeting.

Vidar Helgesen is Norway’s former State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister of European Affairs and Minister of Climate and the Environment.

The King, Queen, Victoria and Daniel had today a digital meeting with Johan Carlsson, the Director General of the Swedish Public Health Agency.
This was the Royal Family's third meeting with the Director General during the pandemic. Johan Carlsson told, among other things, about the spread of the disease in the country and the authority's continued work with the pandemic.

Yesterday, Prince Carl Philip handed out Radiosporten's Jerring Prize at the Sports Gala. This year's winner, who was voted out by the TV audience, was Armand Duplantis.

Yesterday, Prince Daniel handed out the Pepper of the Year award at the Sports Gala. The prize rewards a person, organization or initiative that in an inclusive and accessible way has succeeded in getting children and young people in Sweden to move. The recipient of this year's award was BaraVanlig, which arranges running training for children and young people with functional variation.

The king, queen, Victoria and Daniel had a digital meeting with Anna Hallberg, the Minister for Foreign Trade and Nordic Affairs and Hans Dahlgren, the Minister for EU Affairs, on the European Union and its relationship with the United Kingdom following Britain's withdrawal from the EU.
The ministers described among other things how EU co-operation is affected internally by Brexit, how the Swedish government views the agreement and how the situation regarding the EU's and Sweden's trade with the UK looks in the short and long term.

The king, queen, Victoria and Daniel gave today a digital audience to State Secretary Robert Rydberg and Veronika Wand-Danielsson, Head of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs' America Unit.
Rydberg and Wand-Danielsson informed them, among other things, on current issues prioritized in relations between Sweden and the United States.

The king, queen, Victoria and Daniel held a video meeting with representatives from the Swedish pharmaceutical industry to get information on how the covid-19 pandemic affects companies.

The meeting was arranged by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, and was the fourth of its kind where Swedish companies inform about how they were affected by the pandemic:

Memorial service from Drottningholm
In memory of the first reported death in covid-19, the royal family pays attention to the anniversary of the spread of the pandemic with a service from Drottningholm Palace Chapel. The Royal Couple and the Crown Princess Couple attend and participate together with The Right Reverend Bishop and Chief Court Chaplain Johan Dalman, The Reverend, Court Chaplain and Rector of the Royal Court Parish Michael Bjerkhagen and Court Organist Mary Ljungquist Hén.
The service will be broadcast at SVT1 at 18.45.

Svensk Damtidning asked Margareta Thorgren: Given the pandemic - how come the royal family can now gather like this? Are they all already vaccinated?
Thorgren said that the royal couple are vaccinated, Victoria and Daniel aren't. She doesn't know if princess Christina and Tord Magnuson are vaccinated. Thorgren said that the memorial service will be corona-secured. The royal family follows the Public Health Agency's restrictions extremely closely. And there will be no more than eight people in the church room, so everyone can keep their distance. The royal family doesn't wear masks, it will not be required, as everyone present will keep corona safe distances.

It's nice to see that Carl Philip and Sofia could participate with short notice instead of Victoria and Daniel. And since they recently had Covid themselves and the king and queen has been vaccinated, it's a very safe solution as well.
 
I wonder if Princess Christina had also been vaccinated due her cancer-illness.

Today, March 17, Queen Silvia, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia attended a virtual meeting with the Swedish Media Council on the research overview "Vulnerable on the internet" focussing on children and young people.

Today the king, queen, Victoria and Daniel participated in a digital meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde to get information about the Swedish Chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Ann Linde is the Chairperson-in-office of OSCE now.
Ann Linde informed about the work that is going on within OSCE, the world's largest organization for regional security which consists of 57 member countries in Europe, Central Asia and North America.

Queen Silvia and Sofia attended (..) a follow-up meeting with children's rights organizations. The meeting was initiated by the Queen, and was attended by both international and Swedish organizations and authorities.

I wonder why Madeleine doesn't attend these meetings about children's rights etc. Now that they are online she could do it, and she's still involved in working with World Childhood Foundation.

King Carl Gustaf and Victoria had today a digital meeting with Håll Sverige Rent - Keep Sweden Tidy.
CEO Johanna Ragnartz, production manager Lisa Possne and communications manager Pontus Tengby informed about operations, various activities and campaigns they do to increase knowledge about the importance of caring for and protecting the nature.
The king ended the meeting by saying, "Hold on. You must not give up in the first place."
The King is the patron of the Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation, in 2020 he paid attention to the Keep Sweden Tidy Day with a greeting.
Victoria inaugurated the Keep Sweden Tidy Day 2018. During her hike in Bohuslän she cleaned the beach together with students from Bojarskolan in Strömstad.
In 2019, Victoria and Estelle paid attention to the importance of keeping nature clean by picking up rubbish at Royal Djurgården and Haga Park.

Håkan Jevrell, former ambassador to Singapore and representative in Taiwan, and Cecilia Ruthström-Ruin, head of the Asia Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefed the royals focusing on political development, climate and sustainability issues and trade issues.

King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia, Victoria, Daniel and Carl Philip had yesterday a video meeting with the county governors in Sweden. This was the fourth meeting with the county governors after the pandemic started.

This was a follow-up to the meetings that took place between the King and Queen, the Crown Princess Couple all the governors in 2020.
The Governor of Västmanland County, Minoo Akhtarzand, gave a general overview of the situation in the counties during the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. Each governor reported on the situation in their counties. They reported that since the most recent meeting in December 2020, the spread of infection has increased dramatically throughout the country and the mutated virus variants are spreading in all counties. Vaccination work in the regions is progressing well.

Today king Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia, Victoria and Daniel had a video meeting with The SOM Institute. The SOM Institute is an independent research organization at the University of Gothenburg. Since 1986 the SOM Institute has conducted surveys regarding public opinion in Sweden.

Minister Ernkrans told about the Government's research policy, ongoing initiatives and international research collaborations. She also talked about the measures taken at universities and colleges due to the pandemic.

King Carl Gustaf and Victoria had today a digital meeting with the World Wide Fund for Nature WWF's Chairman of the Board Axel Wenblad, acting Secretary General Peter Westman and Management Coordinator Heidi Liderfors.
 
The King, Victoria and Daniel had a video meeting with the chairmen of The Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO), The Swedish Confederation of Professional Associations (SACO) and The Confederation of Professional Employees (TCO).
The chairmen of these workers' organizations told how their members were affected by the pandemic and about the measures taken and gave their respective assessments regarding the situation on the labor market after the pandemic.

They got information about the investigation, its task has been to analyze and propose a structure for responsibility, management and coordination of civil defense at central, regional and local level.
